The day you left I was heartbroken
But that's when I finally awoken.
I no longer wanted to be the girl you had to protect
But I wanted to be the girl you could hold respect.
I've strived to be strong just like you
So that you could understand what I'm saying is true.
I'm no longer the weak girl you left years ago
Because I made the decision that it's my time to grow.
I've grown into someone who's strong enough to protect myself
You no longer have to deal with that problem yourself.
I wish you could be here to see how much I've grown
So you could see my strength has never been unknown.
