Disclaimer: I wish I was J.K. Rowling because it would make this gift so much more special. Alas, I am not she. The only payment I receive for this is making someone else happy.
A/N: This was written for the Happiness and Hugs Weekly Challenge on HPFC. This story is dedicated to Kaylee (Zellarest). I decided to write a friendship/family drabble.
Love and Friendship
Harry flooed to his home after getting off night shift with the Auror department. He flooed home since he was too tired to Apparate and didn't want to risk splinching himself. He walked into his kitchen and saw Hermione serving breakfast to five children.
"Where's Ginny?" he asked.
"I figured I would let her sleep. She doesn't sleep well when you work night shift. I stayed here last night to help her out with the kids."
Harry walked over and kissed Hermione on the cheek. "You're a gem, Hermione. Thank you."
Hermione smiled at Harry. "You know you're my brother, Harry. And Ginny is my best friend. I would do anything to help you two out. Now sit down and eat something before you go to sleep."
Harry sat and Hermione put a plate of eggs and sausage in front of him.
As Harry was finishing his breakfast, he heard, "Well, this looks homey."
He looked up to see Ginny smiling at the scene before her. Harry was sitting at the table with their sons, daughter, niece and nephew. Hermione was standing at the stove cooking eggs for Ginny. It looked like a very nice family scene.
Ginny walked over and kissed Harry briefly on the lips before filling her own plate with eggs and sausage.
Hermione put the dirty dishes in the sink and waved her wand to start washing the dishes. She cleaned egg from Hugo's face and hands and then looked at Ginny and asked, "Are we still on for later?"
"Yes," said Ginny. "Are you still offering for this morning?"
"Of course," said Hermione with a smirk on her face. She quickly cleaned up the rest of the children and gathered clothes and diaper bags while Ginny finished eating. Then she gathered all the children and pulled an empty Pepsi can out of her bag. After making sure all the children were touching it, she glanced at her watch and said, "Bye. Have fun." After giving a wink, she and the children were gone.
Harry looked at Ginny and said, "What was that about?"
Ginny smiled as she stood. She grabbed Harry's hand pulling him to his feet. "She's giving us a bit of alone time."
"I think I like the sound of that," said Harry, as Ginny captured his lips with hers. She then took him to their bedroom where they spent the remainder of their "alone time."
A/N2: I didn't really mean for the fluffy bit at the end to be there. I just wanted to show how much Harry and Hermione meant to each other as friends. I guess the story wanted to show a bit more.
