Heiwajima Shizuo is a tough person. He's the kind of person that you will never see cry. Up to the point that when he cries, nobody's there, he's always alone. But that was fine with him. It was always been that way and always will be.
But today will not be like that as he cried in front of the crowd somewhere in Ikebukuro in which a certain person who he had thought would never die and he never thought that he would cry for him.
That person… That person that he claims to hate, that person that he tries to kill, is finally dead. He cannot believe the truth that spread itself upon his eyes. Orihara Izaya is dead.
Shizuo still isn't aware of what or who caused this to the flea. He should be the one to kill Izaya, his only prey to feed upon! Whoever caused this will pay dearly along with interest for stealing his prey, Izaya, from him.
He doesn't even care if he shall be a murderer if he does so. Izaya is his, only his, and no one should have the privilege to take him from Shizuo. But now, he can't have Izaya anymore.
He went to the informant's still body, something that the people of Ikebukuro cannot understand. Why must Heiwajima Shizuo mourn on his rival's death?
Maybe because there will be no one to challenge him? No one to fight with? These thoughts linger in the crowd's mind. Then they are wrong. Izaya is not just a punching bag for him to punch neither a pest to kill.
Shizuo picked up the informant's pale body which is covered with blood whilst ignoring the crowd's murmurs. He carried Izaya like a princess that looks very fragile and vulnerable that at any moment could shatter to pieces in his long arms.
Nobody knew. Nobody ever knew. Nobody ever knew the truth behind his actions. Nobody knows that he tells Izaya to go away because he knows that the latter will go back the next day. Nobody knows that he missed on purpose when throwing those projectiles on Izaya. Nobody knows that he cares about Izaya, ever since a long time ago.
Now he missed his chance to truly show Izaya what his actions meant. He can never be able to show them now.
"I'll find the bastard who did this to you, Izaya. I'll make it sure that the scum will never see the daylights ever again." Shizuo whispered to the body he's carrying. "I promise you that."
