Hello readers! This is the first of three requested stories from the "Grinchie" contest I held. This story is for Cheap Toaster and please understand this is my first non-sexual story. I did enjoy writing it though.
"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas…" With wide eyes Yuki watched as her mother twirled under the falling snow. "She looks like a winter fairy." the girl thought.
Juuri turned to see her daughter staring at her. She laughed, "Come here my little Yuki. Sing with your mother."
The brunette jumped into her mother's arms and joined in the carol with her tiny voice, "where the tree tops glisten and children listen to hear sleigh bells in the snow."
Cuddling closer, Yuki wished the song would never end; that she and her mother could stay in this winter wonderland. But the snow was coming down faster and faster, and soon Haruka started to call them.
"Girls, time to come in!" his dark head peeking out from the front door, "Juuri, why are you two in your nightgowns?! You'll catch colds!"
Smiling at her husband Juuri carried Yuki inside. As she climbed up to the bedrooms, she called over her shoulder "Ok. Give us some time to get changed and then we'll be down."
About 15 minutes later everyone was sitting around the Christmas tree; Juuri and Haruka sat together on the sofa while Kaname and Yuki decided to sit down on the rug. They all took turns opening gifts they had given one another. There were books for Kaname, a new hairbrush for Yuki, a pocket watch for Haruka, and a rose pendant for Juuri.
At last there was only one present left; it was a special gift for Yuki from her parents. She was thrilled as she lifted a beautiful pale pink ball gown from the box. This was her first grown up dress! As she twirled around with it clutched to her chest, Kaname noticed that the box was not empty. Inside there was another dress, but instead of light pink it was a deep ruby that was far too big for Yuki's petite frame.
Kaname turned to his parents, "Why is this dress bigger than the pink one?"
"We thought that Yuki's beloved big brother would be nice and dress up with her." they smiled.
