Felicity looks at her German lover as the clock in Times' Square counts down, the seconds rolling by, and she sees Ally and Alice giving each other good luck smooches and Marianne kissing her Brazilian girlfriend to ring in the new year in her country.

"Happy New Year Monika." Felicity whispers among the crowd of people to the stoic blonde next to her.

"Hm. You too." Monika replies. The crowd starts cheering and the pair breaks eye contact for a moment as they look and see the timer counting down the last minute of the year.

"TEN!" Ally kisses Alice and said Briton blushes.

"NINE!" Gillian sweeps her Canadian girlfriend into her arms and hugs her.

"EIGHT!" Sonya and Liu share a quick kiss before hugging each other tightly.

"SEVEN!"

"SIX!" Rachael and Victoria kiss each other, blushing afterwards and gaze at the clock, hands clasped together. 'Now's your chance…. You'll never get a chance like this until next year!' Monika's mind tells her, the voice barking at her in her native tongue and she turns to face Felicity, their eyes meeting briefly.

"FIVE!" Monika leans in, and she sees out of the corner of her eye, Lovina and Audrey sharing small, chaste kisses and smiling at each other.

"FOUR!" Felicity closes her eyes, and she leans in too.

"THREE!"

"I need to tell you something Felicity. Something very important." Monika says, reaching into her coat pocket and feeling around for the small velvet box Marianne gave to her so many years ago.

"Yes Monika?" Felicity says, opening her eyes and seeing Monika on one knee, all the other countries around them all crying and screaming for Felicity to scream and cry out yes to her question. She gasps.

"TWO!"

"Will you marry me?" were the simple four words out of her mouth, and the German starts to tear up.

"ONE!" Felicity starts to cry and she nods her head, pulling Monika for their New Years' kiss.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

"yes." Was the small reply between all their little kisses and the sapphire ring slipped onto her left ring finger, gleaming proudly in the artificial lighting the square. "Yes Monika. I'll marry you."
