"Hey, Musica."
Musica turned his head, a pierced eyebrow cocking up in a nonverbal response. Haru sat next to him on the grassy hilltop, eyes set on the clear sky and hair fluttering in the light breeze. Legs bent at the knee and arms resting atop them, Haru appeared seemingly relaxed.
Without looking at the black-haired teen, Haru continued, "Do you think...we'll always be like this?"
Musica puffed out a breath and leaned back on his hands, spreading his legs out. "Can't really say. Things happen, y'know."
"Oh." Haru's gaze never left the sky.
Haru sounded neither disappointed or angry, his words stated normally, as if he had expected the answer from the start.
Musica slid closer to the younger teen's side. "Hey." Taking one of Haru's hands in his own, he kissed the knuckles gently. "Forever's a long time, but it's yours if you want it." He smiled, and his lips met the skin of Haru's hand again.
After a moment, gray finally connected with black. And Haru smiled in return.
"I'd like that."
Underneath the sun on a Sunday afternoon, they kissed, promises of forever in their hearts.
