A/N: I know some people might ask "Why is it always Ruby who dies?" and my answer is because I'm an evil and dark person. So here I give you another fanfiction that involves death and you can guess who dies. Also warning this contains spoilers for people who haven't watched volume 2.
The Docks:
Team RWBY had discovered that the White Fang were moving a large amount of stolen dust to a new location and they wanted to stop them. What they didn't know until they got there was that Cinder herself was personally watching over the operation.
Team RWBY were now locked in combat, Ruby was fighting Cinder and the rest of her team were keeping the White Fang away from her. Yang was punching left and right and was probably enjoying herself a little too much, Weiss was swiftly and gracefully using a combination of her glyphs and her dust to take down any enemy who came close to her, while Blake was quickly and quietly taking out the White Fang that would try to flank them. Ruby was now having a much tougher fight than the rest of her team by fighting Cinder because she had far better fighting skills than any of the White Fang soldiers. While Ruby was doing a lot more defending than attacking she saw that Cinder was starting to slow in her attacking and Ruby used this to her advantage. Right after Ruby had blocked one of Cinders attacks she swung the blunt end of her scythe towards Cinder. Not expecting the sudden attack Cinder was not able to dodge or block the attack, it hit her side with full force sending her skidding across the dock.
Ruby ran after her swing her scythe in the same way she had before, but this time Cinder saw it coming. As Ruby swung Cinder blocked the scythe and kicked Ruby in the gut, all the air in Ruby lungs left her in a second leaving her unable to breathe for a moment giving Cinder the chance to rest for a moment. Once Ruby regained her breath she was met with Cinders foot her hitting her in the face, Cinder had obviously regained her strength before she had. Ruby quickly got up from where Cinders kick had left her and used her semblance by running at full speed towards Cinder punching her in the gut and then immediately in the face. Cinder was sent flying and once she got back up she look at Ruby with an evil glare "YOU LITTLE BRAT!" she screamed at Ruby before lunging at her throwing attack after attack with almost impossible speed.
Ruby was struggling to defend against all of Cinders attacks, it seemed like she had regained all of her energy and was now attacking Ruby with everything she had. After a minute or two of constant defending Ruby redirected one of Cinders attacks throwing her off balance. Using this opportunity Ruby repeatedly hit Cinder with the blunt ends of her weapon until she was sent flying, landed on the ground and stopped moving. Ruby feeling satisfied that Cinder had been knocked out she turned away and walked towards her team. They had just knocked out the last White Fang soldier and were turning to face Ruby. Before Ruby was able to congratulate her team for their successful mission Yang screamed at her "RUBY WATCH OUT!" once Ruby turned she felt a sudden and sharp pain shooting through her stomach and saw Cinder's evil smile in front of her face. Cinder had stabbed one of her blades straight through Ruby's body. She left the blade there for a moment before twisting it a bit, pulling it out and running off before the rest of Ruby's team could react.
By the time the rest of team RWBY got were past their shock and had gotten to Ruby, Cinder was long gone. "RUBY, RUBY HOLD ON RUBY!" Yang screamed propping Ruby up with one arm and applying pressure to her wound with the other. But it was too late Ruby had already died from blood loss and shock, but Yang wouldn't accept it "RUBY DON'T YOU DARE DIE, DON'T YOU DARE PLEASE, PLEASE" Yang went quiet and just pressed her face into her sister chest and cried.
