Reishian Yasuko woke to a startling heat wave from the underside of

bed. She stared blindly into the darkness that surrounded her—it was

still early morning. Having assured herself she was conscious, she swept

her feet over the side of her mattress and landed on the mahogany of

her bedroom floor. As Reishian stepped carefully to the door, she felt

the harshness of the severe heat coming from the other side of it.

Shocked, she whipped it open, only to be met by a sudden wall of smoke

and flames… - 1 and a half months ago.

Kyo Sohma trekked back to Shigure's house unwillingly—if it weren't for

him he wouldn't have to deal with this annoying path. The long walk back

gave him time to think, as it did most days. Only today, he sensed that

something was different. That girl, the odd one who sat in the far back

of homeroom with her two friends, Yankee and Wave Girl. All three were

a bit odd, but they were all very close and looked out for each other. She

was always at school, she had almost a perfect attendance record. Not

that he cared in the least, it didn't matter to him. It just flickered and

sparkled in the corner of his mind, and just annoyed him further. As if it

weren't bad enough he had to live with Shigure and Yuki. But even so, as

he approached the house he knew that they had company, and caught a

glimpse of that girl who wasn't at school that day…
