Paint Palette

Russell walked into art class. He opened the door with a simple "Hello,". He was greeted by a familiar voice. "Come on in," it shouted. He opened the door more to see his favorite half-monkey artist. Minka. He smiled softly and walked in completely, closing the door behind him.
He walked over to Minka, who was painting on a canvas. He caught a glimpse of her painting, and he was surprised. It was a picture a water lilies, each painted slowly and carefully. Russell soon noticed no one else on the class, not even the teacher! "Uh, Minka. Where is everyone," he asked picking up a palette and walking over to the paint dispensers.
"Oh! It's the last day of art class," she said not taking her eyes of the flower she was currently finishing. Russell felt a bullet hit his heart. It was the last day of art class. Minka loved art! He couldn't imagine what it would be like with out her paintings hanging on every wall of the college. She had even painted a picture of Vinnie and Penny Ling's ribbon heart. (Read Dance Lesson to figure it out). Russell finished filling his palette, which been filled with the colors pink, brown, orange, green, and blue, and picked up a paint brush and walked over to the easel and canvas next to her.
He dipped his brush into the pink paint and began to paint a figure. He was not a perfect artist, but Minka taught him how to paint people with easy strokes and movements. He moved his brush around, Minka not sure what he was painting. He swished the brush in a cup of water and dipped it in the brown paint. He did the same, then rapidly moved his brush back in forth in the water. He dipped it in the orange paint. He kept repeating the same motions. Minka looked at him, a look of confusion on her face.
He had finished the painting. He turned it around, so Minka could see. She took one glance at the painting and her eyes filled with tears. It was an extremely detailed picture of him and Minka walking in a meadow. Butterflies all around. He even painted a piece of their animal spirits. Minka's tail and his quills. "I-i-it's...," she stammered. Russell's heart immediately sank. Thinking he had just been rejected, he looked at the floor. He was surprised by a hug from her. "It's beautiful," she cried softly into his ear. His eyes now filled up with tears and he hugged her back. They pulled apart. Then it happened.
Minka stood up on her tippy toes, being a foot shorter, and kissed the hedgehog man. Russell's eyes went wide for a about three seconds, before melting into it. They closed their eyes, kissing each other deeply. Neither one noticed all 4 of their friends (Zoe graduated) looking in through the door window. Vinnie and Penny Ling were holding ribbons. Vinnie took Penny Ling's hand and Sunil took Pepper's. They walked away, letting the couple have some privacy.
