Northern Lights
Emma Swan wasn't just any other girl or another conquest. She wasn't like the other girls at all. On the contrary, she was the exact opposite. Emma was something so normal that it was rare, and that the fact that she made Killian Jones' heart flutter with desire was unbelievable. Killian would do anything, be anything, to win her trust and love, but Emma was too closed up to ever open up. She had told him pieces of one that broke her already fragile heart, but Killian had learned over the years to not ask questions that she does not want to answer. When he touched her, he was always afraid to break her, to hurt her…to lose her. She never seemed to be fully aware of what was happening around her, which only made Killian want her even more, to be a part of her thoughts. Which was exactly what was going through Killian's head right now as he silently stood against the wall, watching the lost little girl that always put on her grown woman act. She sat by the window with her knees to her chest and her beautiful blue eyes staring up at the northern lights, her white oversized knitted sweater hung around her and her left hand was tapping the frosted window. Her blonde hair was in a messy ponytail and her face wiped of any make-up. He walked towards her and sat down on the floor beneath her. He leaned his head between her legs and her chest. She didn't even glance down at him, just put her hand on the side of his head and stroke his hair. It was these nights that made Killian really determined to break down the walls around this girl that had so much impact on him. As the night went, Emma fell asleep and Killian always ended up carrying her up to her bed. Her petite body was a perfect fit in Killian's arms and he used the little time he had to take care of the woman that had always insisted to take care of him, to preserve every single second he had with her. Little did he know that it was the last time he'd ever carry the woman that had stolen his heart. Her soul had left her body by the time he came home to the empty apartment. It seemed as Emma had left this world, the heat and warmth had also gone with her, at least in Killian. Broken, he sat down on the window still where Emma had sat just the night before, looking up to the northern lights. As the light danced in the sky, a little twinkle of heat showed up in Killian.
"I loved you too." Killian said one last time till the love of his life.
