Chapter 1

(A/N: I've got some stuff to say at the end! This is completely edited and COMPLETELY different so enjoy!)

"What the hell?!" Kagome yelled, her eyes huge. She had left the group for a while since Inuyasha was being an ass as always. After sitting him until she thought he wouldn't be able to move for at least several hours she stomped off to find something to make a pincushion out of with her arrows.

Even after collecting all the of jewel shards, defeating Naraku, and destroying the Shikon jewel forever…He was still as much of a child as he had been more than 5 years before. Kagome had mostly gotten used to living in the feudal era after the well had closed, but she often still missed her family as well as the time she got to spend away from Inuyasha. He really was too much some times.

Back to the reason for her outburst though…

She had just killed rather weak bear demon when she sensed a familiar aura in the air. She abruptly stopped collecting the arrows that had strayed a bit from her target but were still usable. The aura seemed distressed and even though she couldn't put a name to it, she went of to find it whoever it was.

She certainly wasn't expecting to find a very bloody Sesshomaru clutching a shrieking Rin to his chest.

Kagome made a small rustling sound in the bushes purposefully to attract the young girl's attention to her. Rin immediately turned to see the disturbance tensing, holding on tighter to Sesshomaru only to relax when she saw the older female.

"Kagome-sama!" She cried, her voice full of relief. "Please do something!" Rin said desperately as she continued to hang onto Sesshomaru looking up at Kagome with watery eyes.

"Master Jaken went off to find Ah-Un but that was a long time ago and Lord Sesshomaru is injured! And-and-and-" Rin panicked practically yelling at Kagome, making the girl wince.

She adored the younger girl and often thought about trying to sneak her away from Sesshomaru.

Who knows what that demon could do to her when she got older? She let it be for now, as Rin seemed very attached to him but it didn't sit well with her most of the time. Kagome knew quite well that demons were capable of being good and loving, Inuyasha for example, but Sesshomaru…

Well he didn't seem the type.

"Rin, calm down." A familiarly stern yet frighteningly weak voice scolded the young girl.

"Yes, Lord Sesshomaru." Rin said a bit more contained but her eyes were still worried and teary as she looked at Sesshomaru's lap, sniffling.

Kagome's heart broke a little at the girl's broken-hearted expression, but she didn't move forward to comfort her like she wished. Sesshomaru was still there and if she knew the demon, he could still injure her even wounded as he was.

"Sesshomaru? Rin? What…happened?" Kagome asked confused and completely mystified as to how the great and powerful taiyoukai was brought to such a weak and pitiful state. She may have been cautious but that did nothing to diminish her curiosity.

"Miko..." Sesshomaru growled or the best growl that he could manage. "Leave us be. This Sesshomaru does not require your services or worry. Be gone." He muttered completely dismissing her as he turned his head to the side.

Kagome's eye twitched minutely.

These feudal men- or… demons rather… They are all so dangerously stupid.

"Don't give me that Sesshomaru." Kagome started, glaring the taiyoukai down whose eyes widened slightly in shock at her back talk.

"You're injured and that means Rin is defenseless!" Kagome said her famous anger flaring immediately and dangerously. "I don't care about your necessity to maintain you're honor and valor and all that bull. If there's something in the area that's powerful enough to injure you, I need to know!" Her reiki came to surface and flare out in a circle around her as she finished her small rant.

Her powers had drastically improved over the years with Naraku dead and the Shikon jewel destroyed forever. She had plenty of time to develop her powers and learn how they coordinated with her emotions. I mean, when one actually has time to train… well things tend to improve and get stronger.

…Her tongue had worsen as well with her time in Inuyasha's company. The worst things tend to rub off on people…

Sesshomaru seemed impressed by her outburst and just a bit humbled for he shut up. Rin took this as a chance to explain how this had happened.

"Well Kagome-sama… Rin was gathering some flowers to give to Lord Sesshomaru when this big stupid demon came and said something about Lord Sesshomaru paying homage to the great Kurai by giving him Rin. Rin ran away very fast and started calling out for Lord Sesshomaru." The smaller girl started taking pause to sniffle. Again Kagome's heart ached for the girl. She really was too young to have to be going through all this.

"The demon told me to shut up and then he made this big flash of light appear and-and that's when Lord Sesshomaru appeared and jumped in front of Rin! He was injured but my Lord Sesshomaru still destroyed him in one swipe then he collapsed and now you've found Rin and Lord Sesshomaru like you have!" She finished looking even weepier as she looked up at Kagome. "Please! Help my lord! Please Kagome-sama, please!" Rin begged.

Sesshomaru looked affronted by the fact that Rin was begging for help for him.

"Rin, cease your foolishness. I am fine. Miko, go back to my insolent half brother and forget about this incident." Sesshomaru commanded somehow sounding regal despite his sorry state.

At the mention of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru's second dismissal Kagome's anger and reiki spiked again.

"Sesshomaru will you please just shut up and let me help you, you arrogant asshole!" Kagome huffed, annoyed.

And then she moved.

Before Sesshomaru even had time to react Kagome was on him straddling his waist, holding him still. Rin had scurried out of the way when she saw Kagome's intentions and watched wide-eyed from a distance.

"Now, this may hurt a little. I'm not sure how my healing powers will transfer to your youkai body… but you're a big boy! You should be able to handle it!" Kagome said with a devious smile secretly hoping that it would hurt him at least a little.

Sesshomaru, however, didn't look pleased in the slightest.

"Miko, remove yourself from my person at once!" An indignant Sesshomaru really didn't like the position they were in.

Her lower region was pressed up against his and he had quite a nice view of her voluptuous upper body. He would never allow anyone to know that he … somewhat… fancied the young miko. He had only admitted to himself that admired her spirit, loyalty, and most of all her strength, emotional, spiritual, and physical.

They were prime traits for his mate, though he refused to acknowledge that. Since he had seen her in his fathers' tomb and she screamed his half brothers' name he couldn't help but imagine that she was yelling his own name over and over and as she writhed beneath him reaching her peak in their love making. He had had many a dream of that rest assured… It didn't help especially during the continued meeting when she would yell his name to stop him from killing his half brother.

No! Sesshomaru told himself as he snapped out of his reveries. I shan't have a human for a mate no matter how much this Sesshomaru is drawn to her! Sesshomaru told his inner beast but he knew that deep in his heart that had seemed to start beating again once he had seen her for the first time so long ago…he wanted her and her wanted her bad…Regardless of her species.

What am I becoming? He questioned himself silently as he continued to glower at the girl sitting pleasantly in his lap; unaware of the effects she was having on him.

"Oh shush up!" Kagome continued, perfectly oblivious, with a grin, concentrating on the healing spells that Kaede had taught her. She knew the chances were high that Sesshomaru would simply behead her as soon as she healed him… But there was just something telling her that she had to do this. Her instincts had never steered her wrong before… So she would follow them.

Wherever they were leading her.

"Everything will be fine! I've practiced my healing abilities on Inuyasha and he survived! Just a few scars here and there... a few shrieks of agony… You'll be fine!" Kagome continued cheerily.

She opened his haori before he could stop her and laid her warm, soft yet strong hands on his now bare pale well-muscled chest.

Sesshomaru felt his hakama tighten as a not so little problem grew in his pants at the contact. Thankfully Kagome didn't seem to notice, as she was too busy chanting a prayer that would heal his injuries. If she were to shift just a little bit up… Well let's just say the purity of the prayer would be more than "in question."

"Miko-" He grunted out but Kagome just hushed him again. The little slip of a woman shushing him?! If he was in proper form he would…

…He would…

…. Never mind what he would do actually.

As she chanted her hands emitted a soft pinkish purple color and a warm feeling spread through his previously aching chest and to every part of his body healing him and returning his energy. There was no backlash somehow… that confused Sesshomaru greatly but he did not care to look into it.

Slowly though, the energy faded and Sesshomaru found that he missed it. He looked up to tell the miko a brisk thank you and found that she was swaying on top of him, her complexion pale and her eyes drooping. She collapsed to the side of him completely spent from healing his injuries and her fighting the demon earlier.

His injuries had apparently been more extensive than either of them had anticipated.

Rin shrieked as Kagome collapsed and even Sesshomaru couldn't help but stare at her wide-eyed.

"Kagome-sama! " Rin cried, kneeling down beside the unmoving girl.

Sesshomaru's eyes darted over her quickly; panic seizing his chest. He couldn't be the reason she passed. That would just be too cruel. They hadn't even spoken properly!

Finally after several tense moments, Sesshomaru noticed her chest moving slowly taking small breaths.

She's alive. Sesshomaru thought with more relief than was probably needed for a girl "he hadn't even spoken to properly".

"Hush Rin. She's simply tired..." Sesshomaru reassured his ward as he watched Kagome her breathing softly in her sleep.

"Oh! Rin is so relieved!" The girl said grinning as she looked down at the girl currently sleeping on the soft grass.

Sesshomaru had to admit he was as well.

"…Lord Sesshomaru?" Rin started softly, she obviously had a request on her tongue from shy, pleading look in her eyes.

"Yes Rin, what is it?" Sesshomaru asked as he got up from the ground, adjusting his Haori and hakama hoping Rin didn't see his body's reaction to the miko on him. He was trying to control it… but she was still in clear view! It didn't help that she was sleeping so beautifully either…

"Well... Since Kagome-sama healed you and now she's all sleepy... Do you think we could take her with us back home to rest there?" Rin asked shyly as she took one of Kagome's hands and looked up at her adopted father and lord hopefully.

Sesshomaru stared at Rin with an impartial look as he fought the raging emotions going through his body.

Take her home? That's absurd! If she's in my home… who knows what I may do? He told himself strictly.

His inner beast hurried to retort though.

But if we leave her here, she may be attacked and she's defenseless as she's used up her energy to heal us! We must take her to the fortress! What Lord would we be if we left her here? What honor is there in abandoning her?

Sesshomaru knew both voices had a point but he went with the seconds' proposal because it brought up a good point. If she was attacked and hurt he wouldn't be able to live with himself, even if honestly it was her fault for spending so much of her energy to heal him.

…Why would she do that though...? I am not my half brother… Using her energy on me… Does it have a meaning?

Sesshomaru refused that train of thought as quickly as it came though.

"Rin… This Sesshomaru will take her with us but be warned… you must not get attached though… she has to go back to my half brother and his group eventually." Sesshomaru said, mostly for his own benefit. He knew it was useless anyway because as soon as she woke up, he knew he would want to rut with her. Hard.

But he would exercise the self-restraint necessary. He would not force himself on her. He was no demon driven by his urges.

If she desires this Sesshomaru though…

Sesshomaru smirked ever so slightly himself at that and picked her up. Her body was adorably small compared to his massive frame and better yet she fit perfectly in his arms… as if she was made to be there.

Sesshomaru was overcome with a strange possessiveness and abruptly decided that she wouldn't be going back to his half brother any time soon.

And those promises to himself… Well… They may not be entirely valid.

"Rin, take hold of my mokomoko. We are leaving." Sesshomaru commanded but his eyes were only for the young woman cradled in his arms.

"Yes, Lord Sesshomaru!" she said with a smile as she moved forward and wrapped her arms around the fluffiness but then her brow furrowed for a moment. "What about Master Jaken?"

"He knows his way to the castle. He will be fine." He said off handedly and with that said he took to the skies with his precious adopted daughter at his side and his precious miko in his arms.

He had no time to worry over the imp. He had other more important things to take care of.

Maybe having a human for a mate wouldn't be so wretched… She certainly is not your average human. Sesshomaru thought to himself with the slightest of smiles before focusing on getting them home.

Unknown to him though, the very imp they were speaking of just moments ago cursed the miko for saving his life and vowing that he would get his revenge.

Well… Hey guys… Or anyone who actually still reads this… Yeah… It's me… Been a while huh?

Inuyasha: AWHILE?! IT'S BEEN THREE YEARS YOU STUPID BITCH!

*pushes him down* …Yeeeeeah… It's a long story… Basically if any of you care… I wanted to take a break.

I wanted to improve my writing before I even thought about publishing something on Fan fiction… I also had a lot of personal self-confidence issues but that's beside the point…and reading over this… It made me squirm… a lot… So I decided to rewrite this. I edited it… Fixed it to fit the style that I created over the years I've been gone… And here it is. I actually gave up writing just a fan fiction in general for a while… But I started getting messages from Fan fiction that people were following my stories and still favoriting… So I decided… I'd come back. And I got my own laptop so… writing is easier when it's not on a third generation Ipod…

Now… this is very cautious… If I see that people actually like me going back and fixing this… Well I'll continue. And I'll keep editing… and get back to where I was… And keep writing till this thing is done. But I'm still in school and I'm swamped with work so… who knows…

Anyway… Thanks for reading all this… And well… Tell me if you liked the edit… And if you want me to continue. If even one person says yes well… I'll try for you bro.
