A/N: Hey! I'm back! Sorry to keep my followers waiting. (All 2 of you.) I decided to do one of my least favorite x and y pairings: Shauna and Calem. (BrightTomorrowShipping.) Rate and Reviews welcome, flames will be put out by Greninja's water shuriken.
"I'll beat you there!" Calem yelled as he ran to the pokeball factory. I laughed and ran after him, quickly catching up.
I ran in front of him. "You are so slow!" I yelled back. Ha. He'd never be able to catch-
THWACK!
I looked up. I had just ran into a weird guy, and he didn't look happy. He was wearing bright red sunglasses and a matching red suit.
Wait a sec.
Had I seen this before?
Shoot.
"Hey kid, this place belongs to team flare." He said, "Get out."
"No! I'm going in." I said trying to sound tough. I guess it didn't work. The team flare guy held up a large stick.
"SHUANA!" Calem yelled
THWACK!
I blacked out.
When I woke up I was in a small room with no one in it. I looked down. I was tied up in heavy ropes. I started to panic. Ugh! Why was team flare ruining the memories of my journey?
I heard a noise from the door behind me. An Espeon walked in. I first assumed they were team flare's, sent to get rid of me, but I was wrong. I got an idea.
"Espeon! Use psychic!" The ropes tied around me started to untangle. I got up. I was free, but where was Calem?
I started to run down the rusty power plant stairs and saw Calem jump in front of his Vaporeon, taking the hits for him. I ran faster.
"Thunderbolt!" the admin commanded her Manectric. Calem braced himself as the bolt struck him.
"Calem!" I yelled. The team flare admin just laughed.
"That'll teach you to play with fire!" she said. My hands clenched into fists. Who would do this? I ran to Calem. He was paralyzed, fainted, and probably a hundred other things. I took out a paralyze heal. I hope this thing works on humans, I thought. Where do I even put it? Does he drink it? Do I spray I on him? The instructions on the thing couldn't be any less clear. I did both.
Calem woke up coughing.
"What the heck?" he said.
"What? I mean you were paralyzed… What was I supposed to do?"
"I don't know maybe take me to the pokemon center! We literally have a medicine filled building right next door from here."
"Oh."
Not my desired reaction, but I was glad he was okay. I think he was able to tell I was a little upset with myself though.
Later that night, Calem and I sat outside and watched the sunset. It was a thing we did every time we visited a new town or city. Usually, they were my favorite nights of the journey. Not tonight.
"Serena beat those idiots before anything bad happened." He said trying to cheer me up. Serena. How could I describe Serena? How about perfect in every way I'm not. She's brave, smart, and the Kalos League champion. Calem can count on her to save the day. I'm sort of just-
There.
"Great." I said, acting like everything was fine. I'm a bad actor.
"Hey, are you okay?"
Say you're fine I thought. You know you're fine. I suck at acting. I burst into tears.
"What's wrong?" he said, arms around me.
"You don't feel like you can count on me." I said. "It sounds so stupid when I say it, but I think it's one of the most important things for friends. We should trust each other."
"I trust you." He said looking me in the eyes.
"Well I haven't earned it. Serena has earned it."
"You have something Serena doesn't." Did I hear that right? I couldn't imagine being better than her in any way.
He kissed me.
"You care."
