Trisha went outside to find her eldest son, Edward, sitting down and pouting. Curious as to why he was sitting there alone, she sat down next to him.

"What's wrong, Ed?" she asked.

"Winry and Pitt are taller than me," the little boy scowled.

His mother chuckled. "I can tell you a secret about getting taller," she whispered in his ear.

Ed jumped up excitedly, his fists pumped up to the air. "Really? What is it?" he asked, unable to contain his excitement.

Trisha nodded. "It's very simple," she told him. "All you have to do is this."

Ed stood still as his mother pulled his shoulders back and straightened him up so he would have proper posture. He frowned.

"That's all? I don't feel any taller."

"As long as you stand tall and proud, you'll be taller than them," Trisha told him. "Stand up straight and have good posture, that's all there is. And of course, drink milk." She smiled down at him radiantly.

"No way! Milk is disgusting! Why would I ever want to drink that disgusting liquid?" Ed exclaimed.

Trisha patted his back and watched him as he ran over to where Winry, Pitt, and Al were playing. Ed put his hands to his hips and huffed, and then he pointed to both Pitt and Winry. Trisha watched as Edward stood up straight as Al measured the three of them. Much to Ed's happiness, his mother's trick had worked. He stood up straight and turned out taller than both of his friends.

"That's not fair! How'd you get taller?" Pitt exclaimed.

Ed stuck his tongue out. "I'm not telling!"

And from then on, every time Ed remembered his mother, he would stand up straight. Although he never did get taller than the colonel ever was, he still stood up tall and proud.
