Together Forever Edited

Summary: What if Anakin came back to the light? Redone.

Disclaimer: I don't own Star Wars.

A/N: Hi, everyone. Back when I first wrote this I was little more than a naive child, but now I'm an adult wanting to make her first ever fanfic a great one.

One-Shot

It was a month after Mustafar, and Padme was sleeping in her room at Varykino. Anakin had turned back to the light and had once again become friends with Obi-Wan.

It had turned out that many master Jedi had managed to smuggle the majority of the children out of the temple during the attack and now he was helping to restore the temple to its former glory.

After much arguing, Padme had forgiven him, as had the council. A fact for which he'd be forever grateful.

Padme and Anakin were anxiously awaiting the birth of their first child. It was due to be born any day now.

Suddenly Padme woke up with an agonizing pain.

"Ani!" She cried out to him.

"What is it," He asked sleepily. It was way too early to get up.

"I think the baby is coming!" She yelled. She cried out again, placing a hand over the baby.

"Are you sure?" He asked anxiously. He nervously pulled on his clothes in a panic.

"Yes!" She exclaimed.

They got into the speeder and Anakin rushed her to the hospital. "Hold on, Padme, we'll be there soon,"

Anakin was waiting with Obi-Wan in the waiting room. He paced back and forth, unable to sit still.

"Relax, Anakin, I'm sure everything will be fine." Obi-Wan said, trying to soothe his friend's fears.

"But what if something happens to her or the baby?" He asked frantically. "I can't lose them, Obi-Wan."

Finally, the doctor ushered him in, explaining that it was time.

"Padme!" He said, rushing over to her bedside.

The doctor checked her and smiled.

"The babies are ready to be born. I hope you're ready to be parents, it won't be more than a few minutes before the first baby is out." He smiled softly at the soon-to-be parents.

"Babies?" Anakin asked in shock.

"She's pregnant with twins." The doctor explained

"Oh, Ani, that's great!" She cried out at the end of the sentence.

"Padme!" Anakin reached out with the force to soothe her pain.

"Don't worry, it's normal." The doctor told him.

"It's a boy." The doctor smiled, holding up the newborn baby boy.

"Luke." Padme said, panting from the exertion.

The doctor handed Luke over to his father.

With a few more pushes, the second baby was born with a soft cry.

"It's a girl." The doctor held her out to her mother.

"Leia." Padme said, completely exhausted, but overjoyed at the same time.

"Is she alright?" Anakin asked the doctor fearfully.

"She is fine Anakin." The doctor said. "She'll be tired for the next few days, but then you may bring the children home."

Just then Obi-Wan came in the room, having realized the babies were here.

"Congratulations you two." He said, smiling.

"Thanks, Obi-Wan." Padme said, soon falling asleep.

They went on to live long, happy lives. The Jedi Order was rebuilt and soon the Emperor was killed by Anakin. Luke and Leia grew up happily with their parents, never knowing what their fate would have been had things gone differently.

All was well.
