This first drabble is from 'Revs' POV and is in second-person form (the following drabbles will be in 2nd person as well) It also contains het Rev/OC, though the continuing drabbles will involve slash.
You're not too well acquainted with dating, or the whole "relationship" thing, but you figure her smiles are far too brilliant not to give it a try. So a few awkward kisses here and several cuddles on the sofa there, and suddenly you're spouting introductions of the "This is my wife" variety.
It all happens so fast that you barely have time to catch your breath. But it's really very nice. Cozy, actually. And you find that you're content. And maybe being content is akin to being in love.
Maybe.
She knows the scripture almost as well as you do. And bakes the best cakes you have ever tasted. Soft and moist. And always with chocolate icing (because she knows you just love chocolate icing). And as she hands you a slice of cake with that knowing smile on her lips, you think she's probably as content as you are.
Probably.
Every now again, though (because there's always a "though" or a "but" no matter how content two people may be) she'll sigh that little sigh of hers. The absent one that means, "Something is not right here." And she'll worry her bottom lip while icing a cake, and you can just feel the doubt (or is it discontent?) radiating off her at a stifling degree.
It's okay, however, because you know her lips will quirk up in a smile once she turns and hands you that piece of cake (with generous slabs of chocolate icing at the top). So you just continue to thumb through your bible, planning out the high points for next Sunday's sermon. Knowing that this too shall pass.
As you sip on your tea (why is it so cold?) you think of all the people you might save on Sunday. The taste of cold Lipton (because you won't drink anything else) settles on your tongue, then down your throat and you wonder if maybe you should worry a little more about saving your marriage before you think of saving others.
You drink the rest of your tea in one quick gulp and turn your attention back to the Old Testament.
Maybe
