Dez and I had been dating for three weeks now and while we kept saying we were going to, we could never quite find the perfect time to Charlie about us. It didn't really cause any problems, most of the time he wasn't home, which is why I was currently lying on my back while my hands roamed across Dez. His lips were pressed against mine.

Dez pressed his body closer to mine as he ran his thumbs back and forth across the small strip of skin that was showing from where my shirt had ridden up.

"What time do you have to leave?" I asked in between kisses.

"I don't know," He replied, rolling off of me and settling for just holding me against him.

"Do you have anything to do today?"

"I'm supposed to meet your brother for a movie."

"Are you finally going to tell him?" I turned to look at him for his response. I knew the answer already, I just wanted to see his reasoning this time.

"You know it's not like I haven't told him because I don't want anyone to know. I just don't want to be punched in the face." He pressed his face into my shoulder as I laughed.

"I thought we already went over this, you're the best friend you have to tell him before we can tell anyone else, otherwise he is going to be even more upset."

"Can't we just send him a letter, or a text maybe?" He actually seemed to get excited at the idea of not having to face his friend when he delivered the news.

"Yes, because a text would be so much better?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Well, why not?" Dez questioned, waving my cell phone in my face. I had to admit if it wasn't for the obvious cowardice, it did seem to alleviate a lot of the hassle of looking Charlie in the eye.

"Fine, but we are using your phone." I said, taking my phone before reaching for his phone on my nightstand. "How would you even say this in a text?" I questioned.

"Hey bro, I've been dating your sister for the last three weeks." Dez said, staring up at my ceiling while my fingers flitted across his keyboard.

"So now we just wait?" Dez bolted up, he must have realized that I sent the text.

"Wait! You actually sent that?" He was on the verge of panic as he snatched his phone to check his sent messages.

"Yeah, you told me to!" I exclaimed, confused.

"I was joking. That makes it seem like we have been sneaking around his back for all this time."

"Well . . . isn't that kind of what we have been doing?" Dez was still staring at his phone, waiting for a reply I assume.

"But you can't tell him that. That's the kind of story you tell your best friend when you get married, or on your deathbed. It's like mocking him, telling him that he was too stupid to notice that his best friend and little sister have been together right under his nose!" I kneeled up on my bed to wrap my arms around the back of his shoulders. "How are you so calm about this anyway?"

"Because the text came from your phone not mine, so it's you he is going to associate with murdering." Dez turned around again in panic and I couldn't suppress the giggle. "I'm kidding, you will be fine. Just a few harsh words and many extremely personal questions and we will be through."

My boyfriend finally seemed to calm down before his phone vibrated. We both looked down at the screen together.

It's really short but I love these one shot Mel and Dez fanfics. I just think that there's a million different directions that their relationship could go and when one comes to mind I have to write it down.
