This is an diffent reality were george has to leave lennie at the ranch to get on with his own life. Sorry about my spelling hope you enjoy!
The long contry road was lonley without him. Every step away from the ranch hurt. He knew it was for the best. It was time he got on with his own life. He couldnt look after lennie forever. Sooner or later he would had to leave.
He paused under a tree and took in the landscape. He could see for miles and the sun was set in the purest of blue sky like a jewle set in a crown. The crop feilds of the surrounding land were just starting to glow with the golden hue that alerted the farmers that it was ready for havesting. Trees stood strond and proud along one side of the dirt road that twisted and turned in to the distance. The bueaty of it was mesmorising he just wished lennie was here and it wasen't the last time he wished that.
The image of lennies face when he relized he would be left at the ranch burned through his mind. The look of dissapontment and betrale on lennie's face broke his heart. The sunken eyes full of sadness staring into nothing and his words before he left truley hurt him. "Don't leave me here George im begging you George,George please don't". Tears fell down his sun beaten face hitting the dirt beside his feet. Suddenly all the memories of lennie came back to him. The two of them traveling down this old beaten dirt road towards the ranch of which he was departing. The moment lennie got his puupy. They were both happy both of there eyes full of hope and excitement certian of the future that never unrolled. No little house for them to live in no farm for them to live in no bunnys for lennie to look after no being surrouned by friends like crooks and candy.
A sharp sound of a bird cry brought him back to reality. "No you can't turn back not now, not never" he sharply to himself. "Turning back now would be soft but if i dont turn back i will feel guilty for a long time". The image of lennie burnt in his mind so clearly it was like he was right in front of him again. "Don't leave me here George im begging you George, George please don't". He sat down on the hard dirt road with his head in his hands. It was only when the sun caught his eyes he relized how low the sun was "but it was midday "he splutted "best make camp". He moved off the road and layed down his bindle.
Half an hour later burnning in front of him was a roaring camp fire. He reached in to his bindle and brought out a tin of beans. It was only as he went to bring a spoonful to his mouth he remembed what lennie would say "but George i like ketup on my beans". He put the spoonful of beans in his mouth he felt sick and the memories came flooding back. When they were down by the river, when lennie said he would go live in a cave and the mice. Oh the mice.
The sun lowered till only the stars and moon remained to light up the land. He laid there thinking through his chocies. He tossed and turned restless for hours absoulty sure lennie was doing the same. Slowly he slipped into a dreamful sleep. His dreams were littered with memories of lennie but also a image of him with a smiling wife and a young girl sitting on his shoulders. They all looked so happy then an image of lennies heartbroken face joined the moment breacking the spell. He woke. It was still dark slowly laying he looked around the camp. As soon as his head hit the pillow he fell asleep but this time to a dreamless void of darkness.
The sun was comming up as he packed up his camp. He was still debating about going back to the ranch back to lennie. "You can't stay like this forever" he told himself.he turned to the path that lead to the nearest town and left. Left his memories left his friends. He walked uncirtion of what was ahead. He left to find his destiny.
But was it the right one?
