It was New years eve, and like any other day Felicity was busy hacking into another federal database for Oliver. Although Oliver was at the Queen family party and Diggle was enjoying the night with Carly, Felicity stayed in the Arrow Team Lair, working hard to find any clues for the team. Although Felicity found it a bit mean for Oliver to put her here on to work on new year's eve, she didn't complain.
New Years if she were home, would have been lonely anyways. Felicity lived in an apartment alone. She would have spent it with her friends, if she still had any that she was still in touch with. She has been spending every ounce of her energy with work and life threatening 'activities' with team Arrow after work. She never really realised how alone she is, till tonight. Oliver has his family, Diggle has Carly and his nephew, and Felicity? She was alone.
To distract herself from all this loneliness she just continue her hacking. It was now 11 30 and there was only 30 minutes left till it was the new year. Snow rushed down from the sky to only gracefully land on the ground of the city. Perhaps wearing a red and green festive dress wasn't the greatest idea. Felicity quickly she finished up her work. She glanced at the clock, seven minutes to go. She closed up her work and opened up to tabs. One had a countdown for the new years and the other was YouTube. She searched up Give me love by Ed Sheeran, one of her favorite songs, and poured herself a glass of wine. "Another new years alone." Felicity said as she took a sip of her drink.
" I hope you have enough for another glass Felicity." Felicity jumped at the sound of the deep voice. She turned around to see Oliver walking towards her.
"Oliver, what are you doing here? You should be with your family." She turned around to turn off her music but was stopped by Oliver's hand.
"Leave the music on." Oliver held Felicity's hand and brought her over an open space. "May I have this dance." Oliver asked.
"Um, You may," Felicity said hesitantly, with her trembling voice. Oliver's cold hands wrapped around her slim waist and Felicity placed her arms around his neck. She glanced over his shoulder to check the timer, 4 minutes to go.
"So , will you tell me why your here and not with your family?" Oliver looked into Felicity's eyes and responded.
"I told you once that I wanted to spend time with people I can't care for." Felicity's smile began to fade, "Well... for this year's new year's resolution I am deciding to change that. Starting with the second this new year's begins, I want to be with the one care for, the one I want to spend all my time with. The one who makes me happy, and stays beside me even during my darkest moments. The one who I love. And I Felicity, am in love with you. And no matter how much I try to stop myself, in the end I know it will be impossible, because how can someone live without their life." Felicity was at a loss of words.
"Oliver.." Without letting her; say another word, he bent down and perfectly placed his lips on hers. He pulled her closer, leaving no space in-between. Felicity brought her hands up to his hair, playing with it between her thin fingers.
The clock struck 12 and Felicity's timer began to beep loudly. They parted lips but had there foreheads still touching. With closed eyes and smile on Felicity's face, she whispered, "I love you Oliver, Happy new years."

"I love you too."
