Our Dear Unrelenting Alice (One-shot)
"Alice! No. I don't want a party!" I stomped my foot. Alice was beginning to plan my 18th birthday party. I told her soooo many times that I didn't want one, but noooo she didn't listen. It's not like Edward had helped either. He just smiled, saying it would be fine.
"Bella, it's not like I'm inviting the whole school, for goodness sake," she smiled charmingly. Unfortunately for her it didn't work. "Besides, you're turning 18."
"It's really not that big a deal. I'm just turning 18."
"Yeah, well, try being a vampire and never having a real birthday," She said sarcastically. I frowned. Alice continued tying blue and green ribbons around the front porch railings of the Cullen house.
"Fine. I give up," I sighed petulantly, surrendering to The Whims of Alice. I turned to go inside and find some 'human food'. I knew without even looking back that Alice was beaming at her victory.
I went inside and into the kitchen. Fortunately, there was still food left. Emmett seemed to have taken a recent liking to food fights and 'late' night "floor-food" parties. Once I woke up, when I slept over for Alice's sake, to get a snack, only to find that Emmett, Jasper, and Edward had squirted chocolate syrup on the floor and were sliding all over in their bare feet. Now Emmett has started experimenting with bananas and peanut butter.
I grabbed a bag of chips from the cabinet and sat down on a stool. As I sat munching, I wondered where my god-of-a-boyfriend was. As if on cue, Edward came striding through the doorway.
"Edward, Why didn't you help me insist that Alice NOT throw me a party?" I asked, trying to be mad. I didn't succeed though-I could never stay mad at any of the Cullen's, even if I tried.
"I'm sorry, love, but you know Alice. No matter who tells her no- she still does it anyway. I thought it was a moot point to try." He explained, sitting down beside, me all the while flashing me his most dazzling smile.
