When he awoke, he saw nothing but darkness completely surrounding him. But the darkness soon faded to reveal multiple lights and people speaking. "What? Where am I? What am I doing in this strange place?" But one of the people seemed like they had been notified to his confused state and turned to face him.
"Ah, it appears the transformation sequence for this one was a complete success unlike the other three," he said while gazing at three test tubes. Affixed to the tubes were bronze plaques. But the figure in the tube glanced closer to see if he could understand what the plaques said.
"Devious Diesel, Daisy, Mavis," he thought to himself. The names sounded vaguely familiar to him, but he winced at the sudden headache that occurred when he tried to figure out why those names sounded familiar. An alarm then started blaring, as if sensing his sudden distress. Had he looked down, he might have seen the word BoCo inscribed on it.
"The text subject known as BoCo seems to be in pain," another figured mused with a faint hint of curiosity in their voice. But their curiosity gave way to surprise as BoCo suddenly began pounding on the glass of the test tube. It took a while, but cracks slowly started to form in the reinforced glass. Blow after blow, the cracks spread like a spider web until the test tube burst and several gallons of fluid spilled out.
BoCo then ended up falling out of the now ruined test tube while feeling something sharp slice across his newly formed skin. But he didn't quite understand this new pained feeling that caused him to wince after he was sliced by the broken glass. His pain soon gave way to confusion as he looked at the strange things in his vision that seemed to be bleeding a little.
"Restrain the test subject immediately! He cannot be allowed to escape this facility!" Another scientist barked out harshly. But as the scientists stepped forward to stop BoCo, another feeling overtook him and he began attacking any scientists who dared to get too close.
"Who are you!? What am I doing in this place?" He roared while grabbing one of the scientists by his neck. But whatever the scientists did to BoCo, it seemed to increase his natural strength tenfold. Suddenly, there was a brief snapping sound as the scientist he was currently choking still tried to breathe even though their neck had been broken. The scientist then became limp and BoCo ended up dropping him by accident. Breathing heavily, he looked around and noticed that all the scientists were severely injured or dead except for one that weakly tried crawling away.
BoCo then looked around again for a possible exit and began heading towards it. But he was not quite used to the sudden strange feeling that was known as walking. Thus, he ended up falling several times. "N- None of this feels right. I've still got to find a way out of this place before more of those people show up." Getting to his feet once again, he began slowly staggering towards an exit and managed to leave the facility after several minutes.
After a while passed since BoCo ended up escaping the facility, he gradually began to hear multiple loud noises in the distance that steadily grew louder. Heading towards the source of the noises, BoCo found himself in a place that seemed extremely busy. Men and women were busy making sure that everything ran smoothly. Some whistles were then heard as two yellow tank engine twins shunted some trucks underneath a chute so they could be filled with China Clay.
But BoCo frowned and listened to them speak, as enhanced hearing was another side effect of what the scientists did to him. "Ben, I'm extremely worried about BoCo since he just disappeared around two months ago. Like, what if he ended up being scrapped or something?"
"I don't know Bill, I truly don't know," Ben said to Bill in a sad tone. "But, the Clay Pits definitely aren't the same without him around to keep the two of us from stirring up mischief," Ben replied. Soon, all the trucks had been filled with China Clay. Both twins then set off with the trucks of China Clay, unaware that BoCo had heard everything they said.
BoCo soon decided to leave after a couple minutes, heading in another direction entirely while thinking of what Bill and Ben had said. "The ones known as Bill and Ben, it sounded like they know me somehow. But from where?" He pondered in confusion, both names not sounding familiar to him at all. Half an hour passed, and BoCo arrived at the entrance to a forest. "Maybe I'll possibly find some answers here," he mused to himself and started walking into the forest.
As he walked through the forest, BoCo paused and looked around upon hearing a sudden rumbling noise. "That sounds like an an-i-mal, I think." But no animals showed up. Looking down, he noticed that the rumbling noise seemed to be coming from him. "Oh. I think that this is possibly what those humans referred to as being hun-gry," he thought. Only there didn't seem to be any food in sight.
"I guess I'll have to find some fuel soon so I'm no longer hun-gry." Continuing onwards, BoCo suddenly arrived at what appeared to be a village after walking through the forest for two days. By this point, BoCo was extremely hungry and exhausted. It even seemed like he couldn't stay upright for too much longer before collapsing. Although it ended up taking a while, the villagers eventually took notice of him and disgusted expressions appeared on their faces.
"Oh for the love of…" One of them exclaimed angrily. "I don't know who you are, but put some clothes on! Walking around without any clothes, it's not decent or appropriate!" The villager told him with a scowl on her face before muttering rudely under her breath.
"Forgive me for this. But, what exactly are these clo-th-es you speak of?" BoCo asked while tilting his head in response to what the villager said, indicating that he was confused by what the female villager meant by clothes before noticing the relatively simple garments that she currently had on. Suddenly, all of the hunger and exhaustion from the past two days then hit BoCo all at once and he promptly proceeded to pass out in front of the villagers much to their surprise and they looked at each other while speaking amongst themselves about what should be done in regards to this stranger who only just showed up at their village a short while ago.
