In retrospect, he should have seen it coming. After all, he almost thoroughly convinced himself he was in love with Amy, but, he'd always known the truth in the back of her mind.
It wasn't Amy he was in love with.
It was Dan.
Yes, Ian Kabra- the perfect, rich, handsome, girl-swoon-inducing Ian Kabra was in love with Daniel Arthur Cahill- the dweebish, immature, ninja-obcessed, less-than-immpeciably-dressed Daniel Arthur Cahill, and, honestly he didn't mind.
Because at the end of the day, whether it was good or bad, he could open the computer and Skype, or make a phone call (never text or e-mail because Dan was too lazy to reply most days) and have Daniel babbling on about something or another, and making Ian smile. When they Skyped, Ian didn't really listen (he had the tendency to zone out) but, he watched the way Dan's eyes sparkled or how his smile seemed to shine and light up the farthest reaches of Ian's soul, even from thousands of miles away.
Really, it was hard not to love Dan. So, of course Ian should have seen it coming.
But, then again, finding out is half the fun.
