Under the new management of Hope Van Dyne and Hank Pym, one of the newly rebuilt Pym Tech laboratories was the perfect venue for testing Scott's upgraded Ant-Man suit. Redesigned with a new streamlined look, free of certain design flaws and with the added ability to increase the wearer's mass to giant proportions with the touch of a button, the suit was ready for testing. When Hank Pym was done giving a big lecture to Scott about the suit of course.

"I've made some modifications on the suit so that it will not only allow you to shrink, but to grow as well."

"Cool! But just how big are we talking about here? Can I get as big as the Hulk? Because if the Avengers need another member—"

"Theoretically, you should be able to reach sizes up to twenty five feet and more." Hank informed Scott.

"So you've never tested it before?"

Ignoring that last question, Hank explained the process to Scott, "Now, when you enlarge, your body will be expanding at an exponential rate. You'll suddenly be bigger than everything around you. It's a lot to take in so you'll want to—"

"Yeah, OK. When can I start?" Scott impulsively cut Hank off, like a child eager to try out a new toy.

It had taken a while for Scott to grow accustomed to the experience of shrinking to the size of an insect. So when given the chance to test out one of the suit's other thrilling capabilities, Scott didn't need to be told twice.

"Whenever you're ready, Scott." Hank answered tolerantly, with his daughter Hope standing beside him with her arms crossed, reserving any judgements she had until after the event had unfolded.

"Got it!" Scott gave them a thumbs up and touched the electronic interface on one of his gloves and activated the release of the Pym Particle growth formula.

As Scott began growing, his eyes were filled with glee at the thought of what was currently happening. But as Scott grew bigger, the look of excitement faded from his eyes. The rush of his rapidly decreasing surroundings and his escalating new height were making him feel faint.

"This... is... awesome." Scott exclaimed. The last word spoken with a weak voice, before he lost consciousness and fell backwards, crashing to the ground. The impact of his augmented body creating a man shaped crater on the floor of the laboratory.

Two tall figures looming over him. That's all Scott could see through a haze of blurriness as he came to. Once his blurred vision had cleared, Scott asked optimistically, "How did I do?"

"You passed out and made a hole in the ground." Hope answered Scott bluntly, with an unimpressed look on her face.

"But I still did good, right?" Scott asked with a cheerfulness that you could not fault him for.

Neither Hank nor Hope spoke. Both of them giving themselves a look that seemed to communicate that some things were better left unsaid.

After giving it some thought, it was Hank that gave Scott a diplomatic answer, "Maybe you'll have better luck in the field, but for now how about you give testing the suit a break?"

"Yeah, you're probably right." Scott agreed with a smile on his face, despite his recent failure.

As he began leaving the laboratory, Scott turned to Hope for approval, but sadly she still had the same unimpressed look he had seen on her face when he had woken up.

Once Scott had left the laboratory, Hope turned to her father and asked, "Do you think our insurance will cover damage caused by a giant man?"

"It better."

Author's Note: When Scott said he had only tried going giant once and passed out in a lab, I just had to turn it into a story. Also, please listen to your consciences and leave a review. Thank you.
