Autumn Memories

Autumn leaves are falling
Floating silently to earth
Stringing her hair,
With brown, scarlet and gold.

Thy were sitting by the lake
Hidden by a shade of trees
Basking in the others presence
Bidding another day goodbye.

"I should go."
"Wait."
"Please, don't make this any harder-"
"I just wanted to say, I love you."

Autumn leaves are falling
Losing their place up above
Each one holding a memory.
Sometimes happy, sometimes sad.

Perhaps we'll never know for sure.
