Lucy- Yes, this is finally finished. Please read the bottom after you have finished. It is about my leave of the Shugo Chara fanfiction corner. This may well be the last story I will ever post on here.
"Fu, Fu, Fu... You can run but you can't hide, Rima."
In the deep forests of Elstria, there was a girl who was running, teleporting to be exact, away from someone whose mission was to eliminate her from this world. That someone was a girl; A girl with long pink hair and honey yellow eyes to be precise. Her right eye was covered with a black cloth tied around her head and under her hair with a skull embedded in the center. The material was in the shape of a triangle; like an eyepatch. That was proof that she was from the secret organisation.
"Ugh, I don't have enough magic power to keep this up much longer..." The running girl, Rima, whispered to herself.
Three gunshots were fired from behind her.
Rima POV
"Sh*t!" I cursed. "SHIELD!"
A blue shield cast around me, as protection from the bullets hurling towards me.
"Urrrh..." I groaned as my body gave way and fell to the ground slowly. "No… Please…"
Normal POV
The girl with long pink hair walks towards the person on the ground, pointing her gun at her.
"It's time for you to die Rima. Any last words?" She asks as she raises her foot and rests it on the girls back.
Groans came from the girl on the ground. "Why... Are you... doing this..?" She manages to whisper in between pauses.
"Simply because it is my mission."
Her finger tightens on the gun trigger.
"Oh, and Amu's my name in case you wanted to know.
Rest in peace." She smiles and farewells.
…
The gun fired.
Amu POV
Now back at the large headquarters, I started making my way to the mission counter to report on my mission. A girl walked up to me on my way there.
"Ahh! Amu, welcome back to the headquarters! How was your mission?" The person asked.
"Thanks, Utau. It was successful. I'm going to go report right now; I'll talk to you later, ok?" I reply and smile at her as I continue my way to the mission counter.
These headquarters were for the secret organization; A group who gathers illegal information and assassinates people in the shadows. Once you join this group, you can't just 'leave'. They'll get you and force you to come back, or they kill you. If you start leaking information about the group, they'll most likely just find you and kill you without mercy.
At last, I reached the mission counter.
"You are… Amu-san a high ranking officer, how may I help you?" The receptionist asks and smiles.
"I've just come to report on my mission. It was successful and I have eliminated her." I report.
"Alright, thank you for your report, Amu-san." She thanks as I walk towards the back entrance of the quarters.
These headquarters were surrounded by forest at the front and an area at the back which had the same scenery and feeling as any other normal park outside. That was also where I was going to.
I sat down on my favorite bench. A gust of wind blew by, gently making my hair fly to my right as I close my eyes.
Suddenly, a picture of my family and 'him' flashed in my mind.
My eyes instantly shot opened.
"Why did that appear in my mind..? I promised not to think about those times ever again..." I whispered to myself. Maybe I need to get to sleep...
Standing up, I make my way to my room in the quarters.
"Good morning!" Someone greeted me and bowed.
I nod and greeted back. "Good morning to you too."
It was beautiful morning today. Even though I haven't gone outside yet, I could tell it was. People come greet me when they see me, mostly just because of my high rank. It happens every day.
"Oh, Amu! Good morning, it's great to see you!" Someone behind me called.
I immediately recognized who it was from the voice, sighed and turned around. He probably has a job for me again…
"Good morning to you too Sir. What job do you have for me this time?" I ask.
"Ah, you could already tell that I have a job for you. Well you see, one of our former members has been found and he has spread some information around about us. This is what he looks like." He explains and passes me a sheet of paper with the man's photo and details.
"And you want me to eliminate him?" I say as I scan through the information on the piece of paper and fold it into my pocket.
Yes, of course that was exactly what he wanted me to do.
"Yes, that is correct."
And… I was right.
"Alright, I will report back to you when I have returned."
Another day.. Another mission…
As I was about to reach the front entrance of the building, another person ran towards me.
"Yah! Amu-chan!"
There was only one person who talks to me like that.
"Hey there girl! How are you doing?"
"Kukai! Hi! I'm doing fine, you?" I replied and pulled him into a big hug.
Kukai was one of the few people I was close to in this organization. He is also the only one I can rely on.
"I'm doing great this morning!" He answers enthusiastically.
I chuckle, "Aren't you always?"
"So did you get assigned anything?" I ask.
"Oh, I have a free day today." He replies and gives two thumbs up and a smile that could brighten up the whole world.
"Aw... Lucky!" I pout.
He was so lucky to have a free day. Those barely come by me anymore...
"How 'bout you Amu, anything for you today?"
"Yes unfortunately... Another one of those missions." I say with a sigh.
"I see... That's about all the missions they give you nowadays. Well don't be too heartless, ok heartless girl?" He jokes, hugged me and kissed my cheek.
That's right... Kukai calls me that as a joke, but some people actually call me the 'heartless girl' in this organization. I somehow developed that nickname over time. Since I had succeeded in so many of those 'eliminating the target missions', they decided to call me the 'Girl without a heart' also known as the 'Heartless girl.'
"Haha, I won't. I need to go now, got to go do this mission. I'll see you later Kukai." I reassured and hugged back. With a smile and wave goodbye, I turn around and continue to where I was headed to.
"See you, Amu-chan!"
As stated on the targets documents, the abandoned building near the edge of town was where he made regular visits to; that was where I was going. I have been somewhere around that place before for my previous missions and have always wondered what it was used for.
"Guess I'll find out today." I whispered quietly to myself.
I looked down to find that there were fresh tracks of someone's shoe prints on the dirt road that I was walking on. Someone must have passed through here not too long ago…
It isn't going to be hard finding my target now…
By now I had reached the entrance of the building. It still looked the same as when I had last seen it; except that it was covered in more plant life now.
While I was approaching the floor, I carelessly stepped on a twig that emitted a loud snapping noise.
As an instant reaction, I pulled out my gun and looked in all directions around me.
There was nothing and I sighed with relief.
With caution, I slowly opened the door with my left hand. The door made a horribly loud creaking noise while it was being opened. I looked inside. It was like a cave inside; dark, very dark. The only light source was the sun rays coming in from the four windows on the left and right side walls. The sun also shined in from behind me.
I walked in and observed the objects and equipment in the room. On a few of the tables there were some glass objects. I picked one up to have a look at it.
No matter how I looked at it, it looks like a normal vial that you would use in a science laboratory. Looking around, I realized that it did look like it could have been a working science lab… But why would someone build a science lab in the middle of nowhere?
What were they doing here?
Putting down the glass vial, I noticed some stairs in the far right corner of the room. It probably led to the rooftop. The building didn't look like it was tall enough to have a second floor. Well, at least from the outside it doesn't.
As I was walking up the stairs, I felt small bits of it crumbling off as I kept walking up. Like all the other things, the stairs made horrible squeaking noises. Why does everything in this building make these horrible noises? Even the floorboards make noises. *shiver*
I reached a door and opened it revealing unsurprisingly, a rooftop and a man leaning on the safety railing that went around the edges. I could tell was my target because he had light brown hair that looked the same as in the photo. A strong gust of strong wind past by as the man turned around to face me.
"Ah, have the organization finally found me?"
He looked behind me, expecting something or someone else.
"What were they thinking sending just a young pretty girl by herself here? But that must mean you are of quite a high rank, am I right?"
Tch. I am not 'just a young pretty girl.' I'll show you.
"I have no intention of answering your questions. Your name is Nikaido Yuu, am I right? Previously a scientist for the organization in HQ-03. Why did they let you leave?" I asked.
"Hnn… You don't answer my questions, but you want me to answer yours? That seems a bit unfair, does it not?
Well anyway, yes my name is Nikaido Yuu, although I prefer Nikaido instead of Yuu. You are correct that I was previously a scientist, but they did not 'let me leave,' they kicked me out." He began to explain then sighed.
Kicked him out..?
"During one of the experiments, something went horribly wrong and caused one of my eyes to lose their sight. Therefore, I could not conduct some of the experiments they expected me to do and 'relieved' me of work." He continued.
So that's what happened… About a year ago, I had heard that something went wrong in the science department in HQ-03.
"Well enough of the chat." I started. "I'm here to complete my mission and that's what I'm going to do." I finished and pointed my gun at him.
He sighed, "Impatient are we?"
I saw him glance to the left of me for a second and then sigh again.
Suddenly I was hugged from behind.
I dropped my gun on accident because of the sudden action and cursed myself for doing that.
"Hehh… So this is how they train people in there now huh…" The person behind me whispered.
Wait... I KNOW THIS PERSON.
No… It can't be…
I broke free from him and turned around to see if I was who I thought it was. My eyes widened in shock.
"Yo, remember me?" He said and smiled.
"Why…?" I asked in almost a whisper. I could feel tears forming, but I wouldn't let them show. "WHY DO YOU ONLY SHOW YOURSELF TO ME NOW?!" I looked up at him and cried.
He pulled me into an embrace again.
"I'm sorry Amu… I really am…" He apologized and stroked my head.
"I had to join the organization full time to take over my father's spot. I was already in the organization part time before, that's why I was busy sometimes, but I didn't have the chance to tell you that I wouldn't be around anymore.
On the day that I left on that mission and went 'missing,' my partner who was also my best friend and I were actually caught by the 'Darkness.' You've heard of them right?
They asked me to join them and if I refused I would be let go, but they would kill my partner right in front of me. And If I joined them, they would let him go and never bother him again, so that was what I decided to do. I couldn't bear to see my best friend be killed right in front of my eyes… I'm truly sorry Amu…" He explained and hugged me tighter.
"I see… You really are a kind and caring person…" I said and snuggled my face into his chest.
A phone rang ruining the moment. He broke away from me and declined the call on his phone.
"I'm sorry, I have to go now. They're calling for me… I'll come visit you soon ok? I promise." He said as he tucked some hair on my face behind my hair.
"… Ok. Be careful…" I whispered and smiled weakly.
"I will. Thank you Amu. It made me really happy to see you again."
He smiled and bent down to cup my face in his hands. His lips met my forehead briefly before he said good bye and left
As soon as he left, my knees hit the ground and tears started streamed down my face.
"Ikuto…"
Back at the headquarters, I walked up to the mission counter to report.
"Hello Amu! How can I help you today?" The receptionist, who to my surprise was Utau, asked.
"Ah, Utau! I forgot that you helped at the mission counter sometimes. I've just come to report on my mission." I reply
"Haha, I see. How was your mission?"
"It was unsuccessful; I have failed to complete the mission. Interference from a third party member caused the target to get away." I answer
"Ahhh... It's rare to see you fail to complete a mission, Amu. Did something happen?" She asked worriedly.
"…No, nothing happened." I replied and smiled at her.
"Ok. Well I'll see you later then Amu!"
I wave good bye and walk off.
I was now back at the park-like area at the back of the headquarters. I sat on the same bench again and closed my eyes.
I was glad that I got to see Ikuto again. It has been over 2 and a half years since I had last seen him.
2 and a half years ago
(Ikuto and Amu have been dating for 3 years already.)
I haven't seen Ikuto in over a week… He hasn't called or texted me either. I wonder if something happened…
Ikuto, it's been 2 weeks. Where have you been?
3 weeks… 1 month…2 months…
After the second month, I decided to tell my parents about it. My mom suggested that her friend Yukari might be able to help.
I contacted Yukari and finally after 3 months, they she found out where Ikuto was; working for the Secret Organization.
It took me a while to get my parents to let me go. I knew that there wasn't a chance I could ever have this life back if I go, but even so, I will go because the one I love with all my heart is there.
I opened my eyes.
The day I joined the organization and entered the same HQ as Ikuto was in (HQ-07), was the day he left on that mission and went "missing."
I then met Kukai, a caring and nice friend. If I wasn't dating Ikuto, I definitely would have fallen in love with Kukai. I smiled to myself. I'm so glad I met Kukai…
As if on cue, Kukai entered the area and walked across to me.
"Hi Amu ah, what's with that sad look? Anything happen?" He asks and places his hands on your shoulder.
I shake my head. "Mmmm… Nothing happened."
He takes a seat on the bench beside me and closes his eyes, enjoying the nice breeze. "Alright, if you say so."
Looking up into the beautiful, calming evening sky, a thought appeared in my head as I turn to Kukai to ask him a question.
"Hey, Kukai?"
"Yea?"
"If you could go back in time and change something, would you?"
He opened his eyes and looked at me for a second before gazing up into the sky with a sad smile.
"Yea…. Can I ask why you're asking me?"
"Oh, it's… Nothing."
It was just another normal morning filled with happy greetings when a voice called out to me from behind that made me turn around.
"Amu!" He runs up to me and puts his hands on his knees as if he had been running for a while.
"What is it this time?"
"Amu, this is important, a direct order from the higher ups." He explains as he passes me the documents.
Direct order? I've never received one of those before. What could this be?
My eyes widen as I scan over the sheets of paper.
"As you can see, this person disappeared from the organization 2 years ago, but has recently been found co-operating with the 'Darkness' organizations' motives."
"A-And what do you want me to do about this?"
"The same as you always do."
My world froze.
"Alright… I will report later." I mutter quietly, but loud enough so he could hear.
Running out of the headquarters at full speed, I grasped the papers tightly in my hand before my emotions poured out, not caring about anything or anyone else.
Why? I only just found him after such a long time and this is what I get?
Rats sprinted away under the dumpsters as I walked deeper into the wide brick-wall alleyway. Disgusting, but things like these were not as uncommon to me as before.
Finally reaching the deepest part of the alley, I stood and waited in the wide area. I pulled out the crumpled papers from my pocket and checked whether this was the right place. I sure hoped it was because I didn't have any idea that there was another '54th street alleyway.' Thankfully, it was so I just waited.
The sudden disturbance of peace and quiet startled me and caused me to look up. A flock of birds flew over the top of the alley, calling out to who knows what. I let out a long sigh.
What was I doing here? I don't even know what I'm going to do when I see him. Will I take care of him for the sake of the mission? … No, I hardly bet I could do something like that.
My train of thoughts were interrupted when two figures entered the area.
"Well, well, who do we have here? Nice seeing you here, Amu."
"Yea, nice seeing you here Tsukiyomi." I spit out sarcastically.
"Awww, don't give me that tone, Amu."
He walks closer towards me, causing me to take cautious steps backwards. My back hit the wall. I silently curse under my breath at the sudden realisation of having no room left.
"So… The organisation sent you after me huh?" He asks and leans in closer to my face.
I only turned my head to the left slightly, refusing to look him in the eye.
"Amu. Look at me, Amu." He calls, but I don't budge.
Sighing, he grabs my chin to face him and slams his lips onto mine. I was surprised by the sudden action.
If I said I wasn't happy, I would be lying; but this was not the time to be happy.
"Get away from me, Ikuto." I say as soon as he separated from me.
He frowned. "Don't tell me you didn't like that Amu. I know you did."
"Get away from me, Tsukiyomi." I repeat once again, but again he did not comply.
"Are you two done yet?" Another voice asks.
Ikuto finally turns around and walks back to his companion, while I myself take a few steps away from the wall as well.
"Ah yes," Ikuto starts as he puts a hand on the guy's shoulder and turns back to me. "This is my partner Nagihiko. He prefers to be called Nagi though, just like how I prefer Ikuto."
NAGI, huh?
He had long purple and there was quite a height difference between him and Ikuto when he stood next to him, but he was still taller than me.
"Say, Ikuto. I think we should finish up here. They told us to just deal with anyone who gets in our way right?" Nagi states.
"Be patient Nagi, I'll deal with this." Ikuto replies while staring at him in the eye and starts taking steps towards me once again, but stops when his partner spoke again.
"No, Ikuto. I think it's time I did something." He smirks, pulls out the gun in his jacket's pocket and points it at me.
I froze. This has happened many times, but I was never so afraid of a gun being pointed at me like now. The only difference to the other times was that right now my body would not budge at all.
"Nagihiko!" Ikuto yelled angrily.
I saw his finger tighten around the trigger and I closed my eyes. A silent tear rolled down my face as I waited. There was no way I could escape my fate.
The gun fired.
…
…
But nothing happened to me.
I opened my eyes to see what had happened. My eyes widened in horror and my knees hit the ground as realisation of what happened hit me.
"IKUTO! IKUTO! No… Please!" I cry out with tears streaming down my face.
Ikuto was down on the ground with a pool of blood slowly circling around him.
Normal POV
"Ah… It looks like I've missed…" Nagi admits. "She meant that much to you huh, Ikuto." He continues.
"YOU!"
Amu stood up, took out her own gun and shot it at Nagihiko without hesitation or a second thought.
Nagihiko did nothing but smile sadly and accept his fate as he collided with the ground. "It's alright, I have nothing left to live for anyway…"
Amu rushes over to Ikuto, sits down on her knees and lifts his head onto her lap. He was still breathing, but just barely.
"Ah… Amu…" He manages to whisper. "I'm…so glad… you're not… hurt…"
"Ikuto!" Amu cries.
Ikuto lifts his arm up to cup Amu's cheek .
"I… love you… Amu…"
Those were his last words before his body lost all its strength and his eyes closed.
"IKUTO!"
"I will sacrifice myself for you…"
Kukai received a text message on his phone moments later.
"Kukai, come to the 54th street alleyway; the deepest part. There's someone here who I'm sure you would have wanted to see for a long time now. Don't be sad though when you arrive,ok?
I love you, Kukai and…
I'm sorry…
P.S - I knew you were the one he saved." – Amu
Kukai ran as fast as he could to the 54th street alleyway, not even caring when he pushed people out of the way or bumped into people. He knew what this was about, but when he got there, he was too late.
Amu had already fired the last bullet she would ever fire again… At herself.
"And I will sacrifice myself just to be with you in the afterlife."
Lucy - And... That's the end ^_^ I'm sorry it ended like that with them dying and everything, but it was planned like that from the start ~ I really wanted to write a short (semi?) tragedy story, so that's what I decided to do xD Oh if you are confused with anything, you can always ask since I don't think I explained everything enough o.o Again, feedback is always appreciated
I might just write a part or two with Kukai and Ikuto's POV if I can be bothered to. I'll be more likely to write it if someone wants me to, haha. Well anyway, thank you for reading~
IMPORTANT NOTE: I am sorry to inform you that I will be leaving the Shugo Chara fanfiction corner since I have transferred to the Exo fanfiction corner.
I have to come to realize that writing Shugo Chara fanfics was not as enjoyable anymore. This story was changed to and Exo fanfic before I finished it and I enjoyed writing this more than any of my other fanfictions so far. (I changed the names so you guys could read it. The story sounded better to me when the names weren't changed as well.)
I sincerely apologize as I will not be continuing any of my stories that are currently in progress, since I am now focusing on thinking and developing new ideas for Exo fanfictions. Thank you for supporting me up to now and if you wish to keep reading my writing, please go to the websites listed on my profile.
But for now and maybe forever until I return, goodbye and farewell. ~xLucyChan.
