A/N: Just a silly little one shot! I won't be able to write all summer, so I am trying to make up for it now. Anyway enjoy~
Japan and Yάτα the Cat
A rather large and fluffy orange cat crossed the room, lying on its stomach with its paws tucked safely under its belly. Its eyes closed slowly, as if not completely trusting me, until it finally fell asleep.
I sighed and checked my watch again. Greece said he would be over by noon, and it was only twelve thirty. The man was usually punctual, but any number of things in Japan could have distracted him from being on time. Maybe I should have picked him up at the airport after all…
I looked back at the cat, which seemed to want to avoid me and befriend me at the same time. Greece had a certain charm that made cats go crazy about him. To say I lacked that was an understatement. I really do love cats, they just aren't to found of me unless Greece is around.
Yάτα was a gift from Greece. Her name is very original, Greece named her after all. Or at least I thought it was until I realized he was saying "cat" Greek. She is always friendly when he comes to visit, but is rather apathetic otherwise.
"Try to bond with her."
I frowned at the suggestion I remember Greece making. How do you bond with a cat?
Yάτα opened her eyes slightly when I moved towards her. I reached out to pet her, but she backed against the wall a bit. I bit back a frown and sat down about three feet from her. She looked a little more relaxed at that.
Relaxed…
I slowly shifted my body so that I was lying on my stomach as well. I folded my arms in front of me and used them as a pillow. I slowly closed my eyes while Yάτα studied me.
The house was so quiet. I could hear the wind chimes ringing, and light breeze that carried them as well through the open window. I could hear the clock ticking from the front of the house, making me shudder with memories of darker times. I could hear my breath against the floor. And finally, after about twenty minutes, I could hear the pads of Yάτα's paws against the wooden floor. She was walking slowly towards me, and sniffed around for a while. She stopped, and lied by my side, purring lightly. I smiled to myself but didn't dare move.
An hour later I woke up with a jolt. Greece snored a bit in my ear and pulled me closer. Yάτα was asleep between us, and we were still on the floor. Greece had draped his jacket over the three of us.
I went to sit up, but Greece grabbed my wrist and pulled me back down. He kissed my hair while pulling me close.
"Welcome home." I whispered with a smile.
"I'm home…" he mumbled sleepily.
