AN: This is my first fanfic ever, so please read and review! Thanks!
DISCLAIMER: Unfortunetly, I do not own any of these AMAZING characters. But someday... Just kidding. They do, and will forever more belong to the AMAZING Stephenie Meyer.
"DANG IT" I screamed at the empty house. My hands automatically clenched into fists, and my eyes screwed shut. I opened them and took another look into the cabinet. I bit my tongue to hold back my yell of anger. There was no more cereal. Not a single crumb. I glared out the window at my pre-wedding gift. There was no way on the face of this planet I was going to drive to the store in that. Even if there was no food left in this house. I had already endured enough torture at the hands of that car. Stares, gaping looks, and pictures! I felt the tears of anger and stress begin to pool in my eyes as I collapsed on the floor. I had lost control.
Seconds later I felt his cold, stone arms around me. He was the first and the last think I needed right now. I decided to succumb to him. I took a ragged breath, inhaling his cool, sweet scent. I pressed my wet face into his shoulder, now sobbing uncontrollably. I continued to shake as he held me a little tighter. He stroked my hair, and began to hum my lullaby softly. I felt my breathing slow as I calmed down enough to speak.
"How?" I asked in a whisper, almost sure I knew the answer.
"Alice" He answered in his warm melodious voice. I let out a shaky sigh. I was correct. How long had she known about this meltdown? I looked up into his eyes and nodded. I cringed when a few more tears escaped. After a while, Edward began to speak.
"I'm sorry Bella" He said to me, pain filling his voice. I fervently shook my head. This wasn't his fault. Well the car was his fault… but I really didn't need to break down like I did.
"It's not your fault" I said quietly. His eyes were still sad. I smiled meekly. He then gently leaned down to kiss me. His smooth, ice cold lips met mine. I ran my tongue over them, and surprisingly he didn't pull away. He ran his hands through my hair and kissed me a little bit longer. I protested when he broke away, a pout on my face. He smiled his dazzling crooked smile.
"Same old Bella" He chuckled. I bit my lip, for a moment worrying about my future.
"But will I always be this way?" I asked, nervous that my upcoming change would bring the wrong kind of change. He smiled gently.
"It will all work out my Bella" He said. I was uplifted by his sudden optimism. I attributed it to his wanting to make me feel better. He looked deep into my eyes.
"Trust me."
