Hello.

Yes I'm fairly sure all should be aware of my lie, but you know what! I was fortunate enough to be allowed to stay on here and by my own decision I did...I could have left, I could have ran away and become a coward in fear of admitting I committed a crime, it is, although so many don't see it as one (I haven't until being caught), lying about your age is a crime. Not as bad as stealing, or inflicting pain upon another, but it's still bad.

Moving on, I decided to write a little oneshot, inspired by well..., just sheer bad luck in my life.

I do hope you all find it to your appeasements.

Eighteen

The air seemed heavy with each rumble of thunder, the grey and black sky clashing against the sun, blocking its light from all eyes beneath.

A young woman sat out on her oak polished patio, the sun dress she wore, a bright yellow, did not suit her emotions nor the atmosphere.

She had been declined many times, almost uncountable, no one had been able to attend her party, her 18th birthday seemed glum and she felt the urge to cry. Her lotion hands grasped the crumpled paper, its surface etched and cracked seemingly a reflection of her heart. The shadow of the miko slid behind the wall, before the last bit of light left and her shadow was lost. Kagome felt uncomfortably lonely, in general a positive attitude kept her moods at a high altitude but as she ate the last mouthful of her homemade chocolate sundae, nothing but a repressed sadness was felt.

As a child, she never really had many friends, her specialty had always been a disability to her social life, the greyness of those memories brought forward the water into the miko's darkened eyes. A soft tune played from across the black road, Kagome deeming her day pathetic and cold, had clearly ignored the sound, but as it approached and became louder, she became irritated.

"Oh would you shut off that racket!" she yelled in an outburst, standing tall with her eyes narrowed as tears descended her round cheeks.

The little boy once standing on the white pavement screamed and ran off crying to his mother. Collapsing back into the largely woven chair, she sighed, her ebony hair cradling her face as her eye's hid from the world outside. As footsteps quietly climbed the stairs to her patio, Kagome lazily peeked beneath her lashes only to find a branch of deliciously red roses to be shoved upon her face and moist lips to be touching her forehead. Now aware of another presence, she looked upwards, golden eyes framed with silver was a greeting she had not expected.

"You... Sesshoumaru?"

A small smirk graced the lips of the daiyoukai, his flawless hair was pulled across one side of his neck and a black tailored shirt, with handsome tan dress pants to match; adorned his devine body.

"Happy birthday."

And with a bold happiness, Kagome embraced her charm, her love and most of all her closest companion, pleased that at least someone had came; someone was able to enrich themselves in the celebration of her eighteenth birthday.

The End
