The Dark Side of Love

I honestly don't know what is wrong with me to like the Mard Geer x Gray pairing but I do a little and seeing as Mard Geer will never be written in a good way – he is a demon – this is a little dark. Writing Mard Geer is tricky and he may be a little (lot) OOC.

They could hope all they want, but Mard Geer would never be beaten by pathetic little mortals like Fairy Tail. He had to begrudgingly admit that that Devil Slayer had some potential but he was still new to his powers, and as such he couldn't destroy Mard Geer – even transforming into a half demon would not be enough. He himself worried about nothing, his pathetic 'emotions' were back in check but he could feel the burning desire of the demon form, itching for revenge. He couldn't wait to claw at their flesh, hearing their screams and cries until they bled out, seeing the utter look of despair and horror on that Devil Slayers face. But no, he was getting ahead of himself. He would stay calm and this vengeance would come to him in good time.

A throbbing feeling came upon him in his sides; he vaguely recognized that this was pain. Something like that had not been inflicted on him in such an age. That Fire Dragon Slayer had damaged his body but hadn't hurt him, that small victory belonged only to that Ice Devil Slayer. That wretch would be far more powerful one day and then Mard Geer would truly enjoy tearing him down when he acquired that knowledge of his new abilities. Devil Slayer magic would be the only one to truly destroy demons and he thanked Zeref that the Dragon Slayer had joined the fight. He'd heard the Devil Slayer calling that fool out for what he was and found himself agreeing – but only a little bit.

Mard Geer was waiting for Fairy Tail's 'strongest team' to come out and was rewarded with the sight of that blonde wench banging open the doors in fury while that annoying blue feline flew after her chased by that moronic Dragon Slayer. Next came that Requip wizard with a large trolley full of luggage. Mard Geer growled, he had no patience for this, he'd come for the Devil Slayer! Before he emerged from his hiding place in rage, his quarry followed that armour clad redhead. He looked fresh and his injuries had healed, Mard Geer licked his lips in sadistic pleasure – he should enjoy bringing them back very much. But the Ice wizard was lagging behind and that was when Mard Geer noticed a slight limp, he cared not how that human got it nor how much it hurt him – if not inflicted on him by Mard Geer it was irrelevant.

Leaping from his hiding place, Mard Geer latched onto the Devil Slayer's arm and dragged him into a shadow. This human thought that he could defeat him by trading his warmth for new power?! Not a chance! Here he was and now it was payback time. This one's fate was deeply intertwined with the Etherias' and now Mard Geer would make him suffer.

Gray was struggling weakly in his chains; they stopped him from using his magic and held him to the wall of his prison cell. He'd been sedated earlier and just now the effects were wearing off. He tried to lift his legs off the ground and try to loosen the chains, but all he did was make the things binding him around his ankles dig into his skin. They were tied around him further, reaching up his legs from there and coiling round his whole body like a snake. He felt like he'd been bitten and paralyzed by one too.

He registered the sound of a door slamming open and turned his head to see his captor striding across the room towards him with a smug look plastered on his face. He held a simple knife in his hands, there didn't seem to be anything extraordinary about it, but the way Mard Geer handled it made it seem like it was the deadliest weapon in Earth Land. Gray ceased his attempts at struggling to place his full attention on the smirking demon as the knife was brought across his cheek slowly and etching pain into his very being as the blood ran down his face. Many more cuts like this were made before Mard Geer grew bored and took to just ramming the blade deeply into him and twisting it inside.

The demon was cackling as Gray shouted out in pain many times before succumbing to unconsciousness. He couldn't stop the smirk on his face from fading though and was confused as to why he felt something tugging at the central area of his chest. He shook it off and left the room, not fully understanding everything and planning more torture on the Ice Wizard for the next day.

He walked down the halls of his castle domain in an internal form of agony, not fully grasping the idea of light and dark, good and evil, love and hate being two sides of the same coin.

Behold, the crappiest fiction ever!
