A conversation with the stars

So I was inspired by two things when writing this. One of those inspirations was Bruno Mars' "Talking to the Moon." The other...Well, it would be no fun if I told you that one, now would it? :)
He sat down for a second, before realising that grass was too damp during the night to do so.
So Shikamaru instead just leant on that lone tree on top of the hill.
When he made sure no one else was around, he looked up at the stars and the moon, bearing the smallest hint of a smile.
"So then, how are you?"
He stood there, as if waiting for an answer.
"heh, sounds like a drag. My day hasn't been so great either, what with a troublesome job and its paperwork."
Once again, he stood their in silence.
Maybe if you weren't so lazy...
He chuckled. No doubt she'd reply with a line like that.
"Maybe if you weren't so troublesome, I would be able to be even more lazy, instead of coming out here in the middle of the night for a conversation with the stars, and not you."
He could only imagine the smart-ass comebacks she could have used to reply.
Shikamaru gave an uneasy sigh. "You know, when you said doing this would help with us being apart, you failed to mention the awkwardness of practising this idea."
He closed his eyes and looked down, smiling. "It doesn't really help either, just makes me miss you."
The boy opened his eyes again. "A little, anyway."
With a yawn, Shikamaru decided that the conversation had gone too long.
"Damn woman. Even though she's not here, she's still as troublesome as ever."
He looked up at the stars as he smirked. "Don't tell her I said that. Just tell her goodnight."
Undoing the bands that tied the four bunches of hair up on her head, she gave it a brush while looking out her balcony.
She had already been out there for a while, conversing with the stars.
With her brushing finished, and her tea cup empty, Temari closed her balcony door.
"Goodnight, Lazy ass."
End.
