Okay, this story is a bit off when it comes to plot, even I don't really know what's going to happen, just to let you know. I've had this idea for a long time and I just kept changing it over and over, until I had this.
Hope you enjoy!
In a world where pokemon, wondrous creatures with amazing abilities and powers, live is where our story takes place. In the world of pokemon, some people prefer to battle with pokemon in pokemon battles, while others prefer to study pokemon, and yet others prefer to heal and breed pokemon. Everyone loves pokemon for different reasons yet no one cares for pokemon and nature more than Pokemon Rangers, who dedicate their lives to bring peace to people, pokemon and nature. Our story starts in the Oblivia Region, a region made up of seven islands; Tilikule Island, Dolce Island, Faldera Island, Layuda Island, Mitonga Island, Renbow Island and Sophian Island. Pacifically, Pokemon Ranger Union Headquarters, on the top of Mt. Lotalota, located on Renbow Island.
Inside a massive training room, used to train rangers and their pokemon partners, was a twelve year old girl with black hair, tied in a high ponytail, and amber eyes. She was wearing a black tank-top under a short blue cargo vest with short sleeves, blue shorts that went down to her knees, black mid-calf socks and blue and black tennis shoes. Over her hand were a pair of blue fingerless gloves with a black band on the bottom of them. Over the band of her right wrist was a strange watch-like device called a Capture Styler. Around her waist was a black leather belt, and on it were four pale blue pouches, each holding something different; one held many different types of berries (multitudes of each type), one held different kinds of potions (each used for a different emergency), one held poketreats called Poffins (she had made all of them herself) and the last one held little tops called Capture Discs (used to befriend and calm down pokemon). On her head, almost hidden by her hair, were a pair of black goggles with blue lenses and blue buttons on the right-hand side, all with a different function. Her pokemon partners consisted of a purple monkey with a hand on the tip of its tail, a purple mouse with large front teeth, a tiny red robin, a white and red cat/ferret with two long claws at the end of its front paws, a yellow weasel with an orange inflatable sack around its neck, a small dark blue swallow, a yellow tick/spider, a purple fox with a forked tail and a red gem on its forehead and a black fox with yellow rings on its forehead and legs and around its tail and ears. They had just wrapped up a training session.
"Okay, that was really good, we just need to work a little harder and get even stronger" said the young girl, who was going over their progress and figuring out what to improve for the next training session. "Aipom, you need to focus more to really get Focus Punch," she said while looking at the purple monkey, Aipom, a Normal-type from the Johto region that are classified as the Long Tail Pokemon that use their tails as effectively as their hands.
"Focus, right," Aipom muttered to himself.
"Rattata, you need to learn how to control your Flame Wheel without burning anything or bumping into stuff," that comment was directed at the purple mouse, Rattata, a Normal-type from the Kanto region that are classified as the (one of many) Mouse Pokemon that gnaw on things to keep their front teeth from growing too long.
"I almost had it this time," Rattata muttered.
"Fletching, you need to work on getting your Sunny Day stronger," the next one to be spoken to was the tiny robin, Fletchling, a Fire/Flying dual type from the Kalos region that are classified as the Tiny Robin Pokemon.
"I will," Fletchling chirped.
"Zangoose, you need to work on your speed, to learn Aerial Ace you need to be blindingly fast," this time it was the white and red cat/ferret, Zangoose, a Normal-type from the Hoenn region that are classified as the Cat Ferret Pokemon and are well known for the rivalries with purple Poison-type snakes with a blade-like tail, Seviper, that was spoken to.
"I'd like to see a stupid Seviper keep up with me," Zangoose muttered while rubbing his claws together.
"Buizel, I need you to concentrate on the feeling of your Blizzard and Ice Punch and apply it to Ice Fang," the yellow weasel, Buizel, a Water-type from the Sinnoh region classified as the Sea Weasel Pokemon, just nodded his head in acceptance. "Now, does anyone know where did Joltik run off to?" That got everyone looking for the tiny yellow tick/spider, Joltik, an Electric/Bug dual type from the Unova region, classified as the Attaching Pokemon that love to attach to larger pokemon for a ride without the pokemon noticing.
Out of nowhere, Rattata started running around yelling "Get him off! Get him off!" Just when the twelve year old ranger was about to tell her partner to stop running so she can get the tiny tick off him, he jumped up and curled in on himself, erupting into flames. After rolling around for another minute, Joltik finally let go of the poor mouse, slightly burned and fairly weak.
Before anything else could be said, the door leading to the main building opened, revealing a man in his mid-fifties with white hair and stone gray eyes.
"Professor Hastings," the young ranger acknowledged the head of the Ranger Union.
"Ashlyn, how was training?" the much older man asked the younger girl, now identified as Ashlyn Rouge, an orphaned former thief who basically starved herself to feed pokemon with the food she stole.
"We're getting better," Ashlyn replied.
"Good enough for a journey in, say, a week?" Professor Hastings asked with a slight smirk, already knowing what kind of reaction he was going to get from the orphan.
"You mean I can go?" Ashlyn asked, almost afraid he'd say no. She had wanted to travel the regions since she was ten but Hastings never let her. Her partners exchanged excited glances with each other.
"You're starting in one week. And remember to keep me updated." Ashlyn promised to contact him every night, and then she and her nine partners ran to her room so she can get packed. Her room was very basic and didn't have much in terms of decoration. One wall was just one huge bookshelf full of books. There was a door that led to her bathroom right in front of her and the door that led to her "sleeping room" was right by the door that led to the main building. Her "sleeping room" was just as basic and had a single queen-sized bed and a bedside table that had an alarm clock and two wooden perches for her Flying-types. The only other door in the room led to her closet. Seeing as it was late, Ashlyn decided to go to sleep and to start packing tomorrow. It had been a long day. Fletchling and the blue swallow, Taillow, a Normal/Flying dual type from Hoenn known as the Tiny Swallow Pokemon, sat on their perches and fell asleep. Joltik had attached himself to a wall and slept there. Aipom, Rattata, Zangoose, Buizel and the purple fox, Espeon, and the black fox, Umbreon, were all curled up against Ashlyn on her bed, all drifting off to sleep. The next week was going to be busy.
Okay, probably not my best, but it can work. Next chapter has more information on Ashlyn, her backstory and her pokemon partners (all nine of them). Read and Review!
