Author's notes: I'm taking a little break from "Glimpses"…but I should be back with another section soon enough.

No one on the ship had any idea the two of them were doing this in her quarters. If they did, the rumor mill would be fueled for weeks, quite possibly months.

Jean-Luc ran his hands through her hair. "Like this, right?"

Beverly smiled at him. "You're doing perfect, Jean-Luc. I never thought you would agree to do this."

"All you had to do was ask. You know--"

Before he could finish, the chimed sounded.

"Ignore it," Beverly said. "I already told Alissa that I am not to be disturbed."

Less than twenty seconds later, the chime rang again.

"Whoever they are, they are quite persistent," he muttered.

To their surprise, moments later, the doors to her quarters slipped apart. With a gasp, Beverly grabbed all of the incriminating evidence and hid herself in the private section of the bathroom.

"Doctor!" Worf called. "Are you alright?"

Left with no other option, Jean-Luc stepped out of the wash room. "Mr. Worf, do you always barge into senior officers' quarters?"

Worf took in the captain's appearance and frowned. "I apologize, Captain, but the computer detected some potentially harmful contaminates in the air. Commander Riker thought I should come down here to check on Doctor Crusher after she did not respond on her communicator."

"Ah, well, Doctor Crusher is fine," Jean-Luc assured him nervously.

Worf looked around the room, not seeing the doctor. Suddenly, it clicked. The captain's nervousness. The fact Doctor Crusher was hiding. The strange scent in the air. They were obviously participating in some human mating ritual that he was unaware of.

Worf nodded slightly to the captain. "I will make a note in the ship's log that you two are not to be disturbed if the computer detects the contaminants in the future. I apologize, Captain, and assure I will use full discretion when writing my report," he said before walking out of the room.

As soon as the doors closed, Beverly stuck her head out. "All clear?"

"Yes," Jean-Luc said, making his way back to the wash room. "Apparently your little secret set off an alert."

"I told you we should have turned on the air purifiers manually," she said, once again taking a seat. "Tell me Worf didn't see anything when he came in."

Jean-Luc shook his head. "No, he didn't, but I have a strong suspicion he believes we have a relationship that is more than platonic."

Beverly relaxed. "As long as no one knows I dye my hair, I don't care."
