"Master Akisame-san, what is love?"

This is from my future husband (), Kouetsuji Akisame's perspective, taking place after Kenichi-kun asks him what love is. He is my favorite character from Kenichi, and I hope you enjoy!

As he sat on the outdoor porch of the dojo, guitar in hand, he strummed a few chords and sighed. Looking out over Ryouzanpaku's walls at the now setting sun, his thoughts trailed back to an earlier time.

-----

"Master Akisame-san, what is love?" Asked the naïve Kenichi, kneeling respectfully on the floor of one of the dojo's rooms. Not wishing to reveal his innermost thoughts on this controversial topic, he took a scientific approach to attempt to answer the everlasting question. Knowing this would just confuse and bewilder Kenichi-kun, causing him to leave, he resorted to this option, and presented his half-hearted response on the whiteboard.

----

What is love?

What IS love?

And why can't he solve it?

Through art and music, he attempted expressing the concept of love, but was it something even the philosophical jiu-jitsu master couldn't answer?

Another chord was strummed, another note hummed.

For most puzzling questions, he would spend numerous tedious days awake, searching for the answer. But for this, he felt, deep inside, that this is a question that should not be under strict examination. He felt it best to let it be.

Returning from being buried in thinking, he heard the usual calming sounds of Ryouzanpaku; Apachai's "apapapa" drifting through the walls from another room; a sigh of defeat from another round of Othello with Honoka. Shigure's feet silently padded by on the rooftop above, followed by an even softer set of footsteps created by Tochūmaru. The 'click' of Ma Kensei's camera could be heard, followed by an angry outburst from Miu in the kitchen. Sakaki's sinister growl echoed through the halls as Kenichi tried his hardest to lay a finger on Akisame's fellow master. These sounds were normal—completely comforting. And even if love was un-definable, Akisame knew that he would never desert any of the people here; he would give his life in an instant for any of them, and cared for all of them deep in his heart until the ends of the earth. Though the meaning is unsure, what he was sure of was that he loved all the masters and disciples here, and his place was at Ryouzanpaku.

How'd you like it? I know it was really brief, but I just had a random urge to put this up, because when reading this part, I was expecting Akisame to give some kind of scientific answer to Kenichi's question, but don't you also expect that he would give some heartfelt, beautiful response? It seems so Akisame-like… ahahah. (Maybe it's just me)

Read and review! Thanks!
