Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.
Just felt like writing some pointless angst. xD
Pairing: NaruSasu-ish.

But I Still Love You
-----
Naruto feels awkward.
They are at a café, seated at a table next to the window.
He sits with his back ramrod straight, his emotionless eyes gazing at the gently falling snow outside.
It is dark already, even though it is only five in the evening.
The darkness makes the winter scenery of Konoha village look even more beautiful.
Naruto thinks that it makes him look more beautiful, too, if that is even possible.
Naruto's throat constricts. He has to figure out something to say before – he has to say something, anything.
The moment he says it, he feels like an idiot. "So what'd ya think about Sakura going out with Lee?"
Naruto's smile wavers; he feels like his whole face is twitching with the effort it takes to keep the corners of his lips turned up.
He turns his head to look at the blond man sitting at the other side of the table.
The eyes – he has seen them smile before – reveal nothing. The other man doesn't answer. Naruto didn't really expect for him to anyway.
"Don't ignore me." Naruto meant to say it with a light tone, but failed. Instead, it came out in a broken whisper, his voice breaking a little. He had to swallow. He tries to maintain his composure. Because crying in front of the other man is out of the question. He is not going to cry, not again.
The eyes had changed, just a tiny bit. They look cold now, as if the blond wasn't even worth the other man's time.
When the eyes turn away again, Naruto takes a deep breath.
It hurt. And Naruto feels like he is suffocating.
Doesn't he feel even a little awkward? Doesn't he care at all – care about him, about them?
Why did he even agree come here? Why did he agree to see me?
Don't you really want me anymore?
.....
Sasuke doesn't look at Naruto. "You were the one who betrayed me," and there was hurt in his voice.
But I still love you, Naruto thought.
