Chapter 1

'Dylan, what happened?' asked Tom.

'I'm sorry' he replied, confused.

'With Sam, what happened with Sam?' Tom expanded on his previous comment.

'I'd rather not talk about it, I will just get us another drink' Dylan said edging around the topic of the one and only thing that meant anything to him; he hadn't told anyone of his feelings towards Sam and he wasn't planning on doing so any time soon.

'Dylan' Tom almost shouted.

'Look Tom I know you are trying to help but honestly, you're not doing a very good job so I would appreciate it if you would just stop interfering' with that Dylan picked up his jacket and speedily walked out of the pub he had once again been forced to go to, Tom was getting very good at chess.

Tom was left alone with his thoughts. He knew Dylan was hurting and he wanted to help him. He knew how it felt to have to live with heartbreak and not have anyone to talk to. He wasn't going to give up.

He grabbed his coat and ran out of the pub after Dylan. He put his jacket over his head as he just saw Dylan disappear around the corner. He sprinted down the road until he had caught up.

Between panting breaths he spoke 'Dylan, wait please'.

'You really won't give up will you' he said angrily.

'I just want to help' he replied innocently.

'Why? Why are you so interested in my life?' Dylan shouted whilst walking quickly to try and get away.

Tom thought about his question. Why did he want to help? If he was expecting Dylan to tell the truth then he would too.

'A distraction I guess' Tom said quietly.

Dylan stopped in his tracks and looked at Tom.

'A distraction from what?' he finally said.

End of that chapter, thanks for reading it, I'll update as soon as I can.
