Disclaimer: Nothing of the Doctor Who universe belongs to me. I just borrow everything from RDT and who else keeps his hands on the Doctor's life likes to turtore our beloved Doctor :).
Spoiler: Journey's End (what else?) – some kind of a missing scene
Comment: I thought about writing a Drabble but the idea I had just didn't fit into 100 words. So I had to extend it a bit. I hope you don't mind.
I'm not a native speaker nor do I have a beta, so please be patient. If there are any mistakes in it, please tell me. Also if you like/dislike it, I'd love to know. This is my first "Doctor Who" fic and nearly the first story I ever wrote in English.

She could still hear the echoing sound of the disappearing TARDIS, while standing at the beach looking shocked at the spot the blue box has been standing just seconds ago.
Again, he's left her.
Again, she feels like her heart is ripped apart into small pieces.
Again, someone is here to comfort her; someone who's lost as much as she did, and has won so much at the same time.
Rose turns to face the man standing beside her, holding her hand in such a familiar gesture that it nearly hurts. And once again, she is shocked how familiar he looks and still so different from the man she fell in love with so long ago.
Could this work out?
Could it last?
Could she live her life with a man who would remind her everyday of what she's lost?
Could he finally convince her that the things she won are really so much more than the ones she's lost?
Could he make her happy?
Could there be this stupid happily ever after she's dreamt of since she was a little girl?
She doesn't know. She doesn't want to know. Not now. Not today. All she knows is that she wouldn't survive another loss. Like him, the Doctor. He couldn't stand losing her. She knows. That's why he's left, why he's left her once again.
But this time it's different. This time he's left her something, someone.
"How long are you going to stay with me?" she asks, softly.
"Forever," he replies without any hesitation. And then he grins.
And she grins back at him, realizing that in the very same moment he had the same déjà-vu feeling she had. And that's when she knows deep down inside that he's much more the man she loves than she'd first thought.
