Happy Footsteps
It looked like a day as any other day, the dead empty feeling of the surroundings, the red sky and the white decomposing behemoth still doing what they do best.
Pen-Pen looked at the clock, it was 17:00, almost time for his masters to arrive from work and serve him food, but they never came.
Pen-Pen realized that the clock displayed 17:00 for six days now, and that the dinner would never be served, not that he were that hungry, as in his old times at the lab he was subject to experiments that made him almost human in behavior, Pen-Pen ate another instant thawed meal that day, but without electricity he couldn't warm it up.
On day 14 Pen-Pen decided it was time to go and look for his happy-go-lucky owners, the door was locked and Pen² had no thumbs to manipulate the knob.
The blueish bird needed a plan, he rubbed his feet on the carpet and with his temporary magnificent magnetic power, he made the knob turn, "Freedom!" he said, but in penguin it sounded like a "kweeh!".
