Draco confesses to Harry
Harry, surprised and mad? Tells Draco to prove it. He makes Draco do many things; each breaks his heart a little more. Finally, Harry tells him to jump off the astronomy tower for him.
Draco does. A he falls, he thinks, 'Harry, do you love me now?"
Draco never really thought he would be one to fall in true love. After all, sons of Death Eaters hardly had time for courting or love with responsibilities and family honour in the way. And yet, for another time, Draco had failed to be the perfect son for his father. He had fallen in love. Fell hard, at that.
With Harry-friggin-Potter.
Of course, it was never his intention to fall in love with the Boy-Who-Lived. It just…happened and he didn't think it was bound to stop anytime soon.
He paced the corridors of Hogwarts. It was the weekend and most of the school had gone to Hogsmeade to blow off steam.
Running a hand through platinum strands, he was debating whether or not he should confess to Pott-no, Harry.
Ok, he told himself, I'll flip a galleon and if it's dragon-side up, I'll confess to Harry. If it's not, then I'll forget this whole thing happened. Pulling a gold coin out, Draco flipped it smoothly and caught it. It was dragon-side up.
"Damn!"
"Talking to yourself Malfoy? I thought rich, pompous bastards like you were above that." Harry sneered and pushed past Draco, heading towards the Gryffindor Common Room.
The blonde boy bit the inside of his cheek at the insult. For the past few weeks, Draco had refrained from insulting Harry, doing his best to give the object of his affections and his friends a wide berth. He knew when he was not wanted and only insulted Harry for his attention; after all, the first impression he gave at Madam Malkin's probably ruined any chance of a friendship with Harry.
Pulling away from his thoughts, Draco lunged forward and in his desperation, grabbed the Wizarding World's hero by the arm. Jerking back, Harry ripped his arm from his enemy's hold and glared.
"Don't touch me."
Draco, realizing he had approached Harry rather fast, stepped back to give the other some space.
Reaching into his pocket, Harry gripped his wand. "What do you want?"
Shocked at the sudden opportunity to confess his feelings, a confession decided by a galleon at that, Draco found himself speechless for a few seconds.
Annoyed at the stifling silence, Harry turned on his heel and began to leave. Seeing the person he adored turn his back on him, the youngest Malfoy felt something in his chest twinge.
"Harry!"
Shocked, the raven turned and stared with wide eyes. Draco couldn't believe he had shouted the name of his nemesis so…so intimately.
"Harry, wait. I-um, I want-I need to tell you that I, well, I, I kind of, well-oh screw it."
Unable to get his words out, Draco Malfoy strode up confidently and kissed one Harry Potter soundly on the lips.
