Hey guys! So this is my first publish here on this site. I posted this short chapter as some sort of a preview of what is to come. Suggestions, criticism, and compliments are all welcome :) Also depending on how many follows/likes I get I will see how far to extend this story but for now I'm thinking of just having it be around 2-3 chapters long. Happy reading!
"You like her", Happy would always say. Natsu knew it himself but refused to believe it. She was his best friend, his comrade. So why was he feeling this way. It didn't make sense.
"Natsu! Hurry up! The train is leaving!" Lucy exclaimed from across the station. It was their first mission without Happy in the picture. Apparently he had a date with Charlie. Even the cat had a better love story.
"Natsu!" yelled Lucy from inside the train.
"Do we have to go by train? Let's run all the way there instead" grinned Natsu.
"No, now hurry up!"
Natsu ran up to the train and gave his boarding pass to the official. He hated riding trains or anything related to movement. Motion sickness was a real pain in the ass. He envied Wendy for being the only dragon slayer who doesn't mind transportation.
Natsu placed their bags on the storage area and sat down across Lucy. "So where exactly is Baju Island located at?" asked Lucy, "It doesn't show on the map." She flipped the map to the other side to view a closer image, "Maybe it's really small or something".
The train started to move and instantly Natsu doubled over with a pained face. "Urgh" he moaned. (Poor Natsu)
"I heard people don't inhabit the island anymore ever since the sudden fires that would start" Lucy points out. "Seems kind of strange"she whispered to herself as she continued to look at the map.
Lucy looked up in time to see Natsu barf in one of the puke bags he tends to carry around ever since his little incident in one of the magic cars. He groaned and wiped his mouth from any leftovers. "Natsu?" Lucy said with concern in her voice, "why don't you rest on my lap for the rest of the ride, you look worse than other times". She moved across to sit next to him and guided his head to her lap. He seemed to calm a bit and Lucy was able to relax a little. Running her fingers through his pink hair unconsciously, she started to hum a tune her mother would sing to her when she would get sick.
"What song is that?" Natsu asked tiredly. "It doesn't have a name. My mother came up with it when I was young" she said caressing his cheeks now. Natsu managed a nod before he was peacefully sleeping on her lap, his face facing away from her belly. Lucy stroked his chin gently and brushed a strand of hair that had fallen over his face. She looked at his sleeping face and a blush started to ascend upon her face. She placed a hand over her heart feeling it ache. What was this feeling? It can't possibly be…. no, most definitely not. She touched her left cheek with the back of her hand. 'I must be coming down with a cold' she thought to herself. (Lucy, you dense mother fucker…)
After what seemed like forever… The train's official announced through the intercom that the train had arrived to their destined station. As Lucy awoke, startled, she found herself leaning against the side railings. 'What time is it?' she wondered as she yawned and stretched herself while tugging on Natsu's scarf to try and wake him up. "Natsu" she said poking his face at a second attempt to wake him up, "Wake up, we're at the station already".
