Dynasty Warriors: Reflections of a Mercenary
Summary: some of the DW cast, as seen through the eyes of a Foreign Mercenary. Disclaimer: I don't own any of the Dynasty Warriors characters or the Dynasty Warriors Franchise, though the mercenary Uriel is mine.
Author's Note: I wasn't happy with my first post so I added a little more. Hopefully it's a little better now.
Chapter 1. Lu Bu.
My name is Uriel, I'm not actually from china at all, I came here as a mercenary. I was there... At Hu Lao Gate. I was working for Yuan Shao at the time, it was then that I saw Lu Bu for the first and only time in my life, something I am thankful for now. Only a few and I mean very few, times in my life, have I seen a warrior fight as hard or ferociously as Lu Bu. His spear like the Grim Reaper's Sickle, killing anyone it touched instantly.
He was truly a deamon of the battlefield. I saw as he cut down one after another of the Alliance's troops. I was on the ramparts fending off any archers at the time, but when I caught a glimpse of him in the distance I had to stop and watch. Even the enemies around me were awed by his power, stopping to watch as the battle unfold. When I saw him battling as he did, I was almost certain we would not win this day.
I saw one of my fellow officers Gongsun Zan nearly slain, only to be saved by Lord Zhang Fei. I had heard of Lord Zhang Fei's skill already, and I had only been in china for probably no more than a month. But as I saw their duel unfold I knew even Lord Zhang Fei could not stand up to the might of Lu Bu. When their weapons clashed I could see the sparks flashing with each impact. But even from this distance I could see Zhang Fei tiring, while the deamon, Lu Bu seemed as though he could go on forever. The match was slowly becoming one sided, with Zhang Fei barely being able to block Lu Bu's Overpowering blows. Only after Lord Guan Yu joined the fray against the seemingly godlike warrior did the fight seem even close to even. It took Zhang Fei and Guan Yu's combined might to keep the mighty warrior at bay. But even the might of Guan Yu and Zhang Fei could not stay Lu Bu, I could see them visibly tiring, and was almost tempted to help out, but the fear welling up in the pit of my stomach kept me in the ramparts. I heard the drawing of a bow string as I saw one of Dong Zhuo's soldiers out of a daze and aiming for Guan Yu. My sword flashed and the unfortunate archer tumbled from the battlements. I proceeded to slay the rest of the archers on the ramparts before going back to watching Lu Bu fight.
As I saw the battle, I felt that we may very well lose this battle, but, I knew there were a great many heroes with us then, Lord Sun Jian, Lord Liu Bei, and Lord Cao Cao all lead forces against Dong Zhuo. Realizing that didn't actually help much, as I saw Lu Bu battle Guan Yu and Zhang Fei I still felt a horrible hopelessness rising up in me. They were both barely able to bring their weapons up to block Lu Bu's Ferocious blows. Just when I thought they would lose the battle Lord Liu Bei joined his sworn brothers in the battle. Only then did Lu Bu see it fit to retreat. Truly an awesome warrior, Lu Bu....
AN: That's all for my first shot, I know it's short, but the idea has been bouncing around in my head for a week or so...sorry about the format, this is my first time on the site. Should I write any more? Or just stop here?
Also, you can make a request at who you would like to hear about next.
