Edited: September 16, 2018 (The A/N remains the same as before)
Hello everyone!
I know I've been taking my sweet time with my other story, and that's because I have a very annoying writer's block. And as you can all see, all that I can write is this (look down) - too many sad stories! And as much as I hate my mood, writing is my way to calm down. And so, I'll bring you what I can write.
Enjoy... If you can.
Fragments of Sorrow
She opened her hazel eyes, looking around the new environment. Birds were singing in the trees, life all around her. But her hazel eyes were dull, clear of any emotion; her heart was broken once more, by the brother of the one who crushed it the first time. She thought he loved her, she really did, and they were together for two years, alongside with sweet, little Rin and Shippo of course. The first time he kissed her felt like a dream; gentle and caring. But now, he would not even look at her. He never said the words – "I love you", but she thought that deep down he really did care for her, and that his pride was the only thing that stopped him from saying it.
But yesterday she found him with another female dog-demon, and they were not in a position that needed to be explained. She loves him, and she carries his child, but he does not love her.
She got up from the grass and looked down the cliff, the sound of happy birds in her ears, hot tears running down her high and pale cheeks, and then she jumped. The horrible sound of crushing bones echoed through the high walls, scaring away the animals with keen hearing sense.
Somewhere in the castle, an impressive Daiyoukai roared in pain when his mating mark burned his skin, letting him know that his mate was no longer amongst the living.
He left the castle in a hurry, reaching his mate in the speed of light. Falling to his knees, he looked at his beloved, the one that took her own life without ever knowing that he did love her.
He sniffed the air once more, and a roar of grief escaped his lips. She took his unborn child with her, and he didn't even realize that she was pregnant.
He took her into his arms and buried her in his family's burial plot. On the grave stone was engraved: "My beloved Kagome".
Rin closed the book and smiled a sad little smile at her little baby girl. "And this is the end, honey," she told her. "It's a very sad story, mama," said the little girl, and a tear slipped from her hazel eyes. "I know, Kagome child, but not all stories have a happy ending". She smiled at her again, and returned the heavy book to its place, touching the Shikon no Tama on her neck with love, while the other hand wiped dry her tearful eyes.
"I hope you are happy where you are, okaa-san" she mumbled, and left the room with a sigh.
Edit note: I debated whether to leave this story here or remove it, but ended up settling on minor editing. This story was written a long time ago with the mindset of a teenager. I hope the small changes make it easier to read if anyone ever stumbles on this little piece of fiction :)
