What. Second person, Edward POV. I was scribbling this in the margins of my French exam. I regret nothing.
family portrait
you paint the perfect portrait
of the perfect family
framed in mahogany.
first, you see your daughter
ivory skin and ebony hair
and bigbrownchocolate eyes
she's p.r.a.c.t.i.c.a.l.l.y perfect
but perfect isn't enough
and she settles for almost.
(can you see that she's suffocating?)
and then your eyes travel upwards
to her mother, a china doll
an angel fallen from grace
she's your porcelain princess,
but you'll spend forever breaking her to p/i/e/c/e/s
one false move, one fake smile
c-r-a-c-k!
you've shattered her.
you're the thorn in her side
and she's a glass rose
but you're too selfish to let her go,
because you are the fallen angel who deserved to fall
copper/topaz/perfection/evil
but you complete their perfect family
so you just keeping smiling fake happy smiles
safe inside your mahogany frame.
