Marauders
Teddy Lupin stood outside of the barrier leading to Platform 9 ¾ at King's Cross Station, trunk and owl in tow. His Grandmother had already stepped through the barrier, as had Ron, Hermione, little Rose and Hugo, Ginny, the Potter kids, Bill, Fleur, and the Weasley kids, who had all come to see him off. Harry, however, had stayed behind with Teddy, who was staring blankly at the wall.
"Harry?" his little voice asked timidly.
"Hm?" responded Teddy's godfather.
"I'm going to the place where they died," Teddy whispered. Harry didn't need to ask him who he was talking about. He knew it was Teddy's parents, Remus and Tonks.
"I felt the same way about going to my parents' house in Godric's Hollow, Teddy, and I feel the same way when I walk past it now, that's never going to change. But you have to remember what your parents died for, like I do for mine," Harry said. Teddy nodded.
"They died for the greater good," he remembered.
"They died to make sure their son grew up in a world without that kind of evil, Teddy, because they loved you more than anything. They still do, you know," Harry agreed.
"I know," Teddy smiled. Harry then reached into his pocket, and pulled out a map.
"Here, I want you to have this," he said, "I dunno if your dad would've wanted you to have it, but I do."
"What is it?" Teddy asked.
"The Marauder's Map," his godfather happily replied. Teddy gasped. He had seen it before, Harry told him the story of how it was made by their fathers and friends, and how he himself had used it to no end when he was in school.
When Harry handed him the map, Teddy grinned.
"Both of our fathers were Marauders. I had the map throughout my time at school, and now, since you're the son of a Marauder, you'll have it. It's only fitting," Harry smiled. He knew that Teddy would treasure it as he did.
"Wow. Thanks, Harry!" the boy exclaimed, happiness suddenly flooding him.
"Anytime, Ted."
And they walked through the barrier, Teddy ready for seven fantastic years at Hogwarts.
