Disclaimer: Have you seen my face on the news declaring that I'm the new Kishimoto?
No? Well..damn. Still don't own it then.
Anyways I hope you enjoy this introspective piece of mine. On with the story!
Colors
People wear different colors to define themselves. We as a species know this very well. We like our different colors, because of there different shading, or what they represent to us. Let us take a look at the Naruto verse and two diverse characters we know well......

Take a look at Uchiha Sasuke. Brooding and anti-social. You can see this by a glance.
He wears dark or black in his clothing.
Now...look closer.
He wears dark colors because he's always thinking about the moment that dictated and changed his life forever: His parents' murder and subsequent annhilation of his Clan. Maybe he wears the dark colors as a reminder of what could have been, or maybe he wears them to remember what he had, and how it was so savagely ripped from him by one he so trusted.
Let's jump to the time-skip shall we? You've seen his new outfit. There's different colors there. Dark purple...and surprisingly enough..white. I believe he wears these colors, because now his purpose in life has new direction. He believes that by Oorichamaru's tutelage, he has what it takes to kill his traitorous brother, Uchiha Itachi. He's more confident, yet strangely enough..more aloof.
No one really knows the true Uchiha Sasuke...and no one ever will.

Now...onto a more interesting, yet surprisingly complex character, one Uzumaki Naruto.
Happy, cheerful, always has a smile for everyone. But is this really the case?
All of us have seen Naruto wear his bright orange jumpsuit, but have you noticed that after the time-skip, there's more black on his clothing?
It's a contradiction in the finest sense. Like they say "Clothes make the man." It is such in this case.
I believe Naruto wears that blinding shade of orange to combat the constant darkness he has to deal with on a day-to-day basis.
The villagers of Konoha all despise him, the demon he's hosting hates him, and even his peers dislike him to the point of being openly hostile. I believe Naruto wears his jumpsuit to presevere.
Let's take a look at the time-skip again.
Sasuke has fled to Oorichamaru to seek his power and knowledge. This betrayal cuts Naruto deep. He considered Sasuke his best friend...his brother. One he would lay down his life for. This hurt manifests itself in the color black on his new outfit.
How much more hurt will he endure before his outfit is nothing but darkness?
Will Naruto's outfit keep a bright pattern, or will it be consumed by the tidal abyss threatening to swallow him whole?
Uzumaki Naruto has an incredible destiny ahead of him, and an equally hard fight to stand against. One can only hope he will still be a ray of sunshine in a land destroyed......
