The Interview
Summary: Jack and Damian are back in the bey battling world! But first, they have to survive an interview…
Warning: OOC-ness
Note: Why would I be writing fanfiction if I owned this stuff?
"What do you think about the blading world's lack of concern about your comeback?"
Damian perked up a little to that question. Ever since he went off the arrangements, the spotlight wasn't exactly his comfort zone. It wasn't like he had stage fright, but mostly just sat in a chair and let Jack do the talking. But this question was actually interesting. "How much are they paying you to ask that?" He asked, in sync with Jack.
"Jinx!" Jack exclaimed. What was running more through his head was along the lines of 'that was weird.'
They were at an interview before their tag team beyblade match. It was Damian's first since he'd gone off arrangements, Jack's second, and everyone in the USA seemed curious about what they'd been up to in the meantime. This was the first question about beyblade they'd been asked, and the interview was almost done.
Their interviewer laughed, clearly pleased to have gotten a response from Damian. "You two have been very strong in the past, yet none of the other competitors seem concerned about your return. How do you feel about that?"
"Oh, they'll figure things out soon enough," Jack replied flippantly, "but, seriously, who paid you to ask that?"
"What, just that one question? No one is, honest."
"Really, nobody?" Jack leaned forward, eyes narrowed, playing interrogator.
The interviewer didn't even blink, "Nobody."
Jack maintained his gaze for a while longer before perking up. "Let's have lunch."
Damian made a face. "What?"
"This nice gentleman appreciates us." Jack turned to him. "I have offered to buy him lunch."
"You can't just buy him lunch."
"I can if he accepts."
"Not with my money, you can't."
"Oh, please, just because your parents were rich does not mean I don't have any money."
"Check your wallet if you think you have money."
Jack shut up and gave him an icy glare.
"… Does this happen often?" The interviewer inquired.
"Unfortunately, yes. This one," he said, pointing an accusing finger towards Jack, "goes throwing my money around everywhere."
"I do not!" Jack flipped his hair with a huff.
"Yes, you do!" Damian shot back.
Their interviewer just sat back in a mixture of bemusement and humor. They do realize this is airing on television, don't they?
