"Get away from me, Thrushwing!" I screeched.

Thrushwing, my brother, hisses back. "No, you get away from me!" Thrushwing and I, Shadefern, were known to constantly fight each other. We never got along. This time, however, Thrushwing had stolen my prey.

Anger clouded my vision. "You stole my prey!" I leaped at my brother, bowling him over. He struggled, lashing out with unsheathed claws.

The Clan heard the commotion. They turned to watch silently. They didn't stop us. This happened many times already.

Thrushwing shoved his paws into my belly. I gasped, letting go of him. Taking advantage, he pounced on me like a hunter would do to its prey. He raised his paw and swiped it directly across my muzzle. Pain seared through my face as my blood sprayed. You dare draw blood?

With a yowl of outrage, I surged up, knocking Thrushwing off me. He stumbled back, surprised at my strength. I descended upon him, snapping my jaws around his neck like a trap being sprung. My brother choked. I let go of him. Thrushwing fell back, eyes still open with surprise.

My Clanmates suddenly whispered to each other, approaching the still, brown, body.

"Did Shadefern just use the killing bite?"

"Is Thrushwing really dead?"

"This is what strong rivalry between siblings do!"

I stared at Thrushwing, who definitely did not look alive. Did I actually kill him? I wondered, my fur prickling as my Clanmates' eyes darkened. The medicine cat, Yarrowfur, hurried over to Thrushwing. Then she glanced up, her gaze unbelieving. "He's dead."

A jolt of shock rippled through the cats surrounding me. I watched as looks of horror slowly made its way throughout the Clan.

"How can you kill your own brother?" some cat caterwauled. I stepped back, blood still dripping from my jaws. I did this? Why did I kill Thrushwing? No, my brother cannot be dead. Even though we fought, I still loved him.

"Please, I didn't mean it," my voice shook. The Clan leader, Adderstar, stepped forwards.

"You have broken the warrior code," Adderstar announced, his voice cold. "Not only that, you have killed a member of this Clan. Your brother." Gasps came from my Clanmates.

"StarClan, forgive me!" I spun around desperately, searching for any face that had a warm, understanding look. There was none. My Clanmates' glares were icy and angry.

"There is only one choice for this cold and brutal murder. She must be exiled," Adderstar shook his head sadly. Immediately, yowls of agreement rose from the Clan. My Clan.

"Exile!" The Clan shouted. I backed away, feeling very shocked. I really didn't mean to kill him! Really! I regret it!

There was only one choice. I turned tail and ran. What have I done?
