Chapter 1: Preparing for Adventure
Long ago, in the time before recorded history, there existed a vast Kingdom in the middle of a utopia full of life, riches, equality and beauty. This golden age they lived in was brought about under the protection of the ten Guardians and their knights; all of whom were a group of five incredible people, chosen to serve each pair of Guardians, dubbed the Prince and Princess of each element. Each generation produced legendary knights and guardians, keeping the realm stable under their watch and that of the Royal Family they swore fealty to.
Until one day, when a horrible darkness spread through the Kingdom and launched a terrible war. Faced with destruction by traitors, the last generation of both the Royal family and their Guardians made a desperate gambit. They split the kingdom into many different worlds and scattered their power to the four corners of the new multiverse. One, a world of wondrous creatures. Another, a world of magic. A third where the dead protected the living. A fourth world controlled by the elements and lastly, a realm where ingenuity ruled.
Origins forgotten over time, these worlds began anew, with civilizations restarted from their basic roots. The only people who could awaken the powers of Guardians were their unknowing descendants. Before the world was split, a prophecy was made, which foretold the return of the Guardians.
The Darkness is upon us
The worlds descend into chaos
But fear not, for the Guardians will return
He who dreams of a thousand dreams
Shall find his power at the beginning of his eighth year
He shall train to protect his destined one
And they will train to protect him
He shall leave his world
To find the remaining eight who have the power to win
One who has the blessing of the sky (Thunder)
One who swims as though born in it (Water)
One who trains to slay his parent (Earth)
One who commands the celestial heavens (Metal)
One who is born of death (Darkness)
One who rejects reality (Light)
One who is burdened by being a savior (Wind)
One who sees through all faults (Ice)
The Darkness will be destroyed if the ten Guardians train and protect each other
But be wary of the ones who think they are friends as they will attempt to deceive
Take heed if the darkness destroys the dreamer
All will be lost to maelstrom
But if they see the through the deceivers
The darkness will be destroyed in its entirety
The worlds will be forever united
As love is the ultimate light
Let love lead the way for hatred will lead to destruction.
Let the dreamer light the way to peace forevermore
Now, as the worlds converge, powers that were sealed away begin to awaken. The Guardians of Fire, Lightning and Water have been awakened. Ash Ketchum and Misty Waterflower, together with their knights, Brock Slate, Max and May Maple, Anabel Soleil and Dawn Berlitz. They are the first completed team, the Riders of Aura. Along with the Guardian of Fire, Drew Smith and his two knights, Gabriella Sirgant and Victoria Annabeth Spallina, they have trained in their powers and their skills, ready for what is to come. Now their new journey begins.
March 3rd 2005, Oakland, New Jersey about 2:30 PM
The school bell rang, signaling the end of the day. Almost immediately students poured out of the doors and headed to their lockers, talking about their weekend plans and groaning about their teachers.
A young woman with mid back-length red hair in a small ponytail, wearing a blue shirt and matching skirt opened her locker to collect her books for home. As she did so, a pair of hands covered her eyes.
"Guess who?" A male asked in her ear.
The woman smiled. "Hm…no gloves, so it's not Dawn, not enough calluses for May and too rough for Anabel. I'm gonna say…it's my boyfriend."
The girl turned around to see Ash, wearing a grey vest, a tight black muscle shirt and blue jeans, along with his trademarked hat.
"Hey Mist," he greeted cheerfully, kissing her on the cheek.
She pouted. "No lips?"
"Not right now. So where're everyone else?" Ash inquired.
"Right here, knucklehead," another male voice called out. The couple turned to see three people, two girls and one boy. The lone boy was brown-haired with brown eyes, glasses and blue jeans, along with a red t-shirt depicting the school Florida State. The girl on his right had long, dark blonde hair with tanned skin and blue eyes. She wore a blue shirt and a grey skirt. To his left was a brunette with blue eyes, wearing a pair of blue jeans and a blue and white stripped shirt with her hair tied up in a bun.
The three kids were Drew, Gabriella, who preferred Gabby and Victoria, who preferred Tori.
"What up guys? How was class?" Ash asked.
Drew groaned. "Good, but seriously these State tests are gonna be murder on my mind!"
"Don't remind me; at least you don't have Graham!" Gabby complained as the group went on their way.
"So what are our schedules today?" asked Tori.
"Most of us are off today. May and Anabel are at Gymnastics practice," Drew explained as they headed out into the courtyard. Soon enough, a small boy with blue hair, a green shirt and blue jeans ran out to greet them. He was Max Maple, younger brother of another friend, May.
"Hey guys!" Max greeted, running up to them out of breath, "S-sorry, got out of gym a little late…!"
"It's fine, Max," Ash replied, sitting down with Misty next to him.
"Don't you have to train for cross-country, Ash?" asked the younger boy shrewdly.
"Heh, I do that enough running through the woods and outrunning you, Maverick," Ash retorted, smirking.
Ash and his friends had come from their old world and settled in nicely in Drew's homeworld. Outside of their training, they'd branched out into other various activities they enjoyed. To absolutely no one's surprise, Misty took up swimming and proved she was one of the best swimmers at the local YMCA. The high school they were attending next year eagerly awaited her.
The same could be said for Ash as he took up cross-country and track at the middle school. In track, he was a sprinter but he was capable of going the distance that cross country events demanded. He was already being scouted for some colleges.
Max had started taking up Lacrosse, a move that surprised his friends and family. But he was determined to train his hardest and prove he made the right choice. Considering the alternatives, his parents got behind him quite eagerly and were now waiting for him to get onto the local team.
May and Anabel decided to take up gymnastics. Their already flexible bodies were made even more so with the exercises they went through. May made sure tease poor Ash at every chance as a result, especially considering her bust had started to grow while Anabel improved her dancing quite a lot.
Speaking of Anabel, perhaps the most surprising thing the Pokemon trainers had taken up was Anabel learning to be a DJ. She had been listening to the radio one night and was curious about the song being changed with different tunes. After some discussion with Drew and his family, she started doing some random music-mixing and found that her empathic abilities allowed her to feel the vibrations given off by the music and how others might feel when hearing them. Buying a turntable and some recording equipment, her bedroom had become her recording studio. There were some days where she mixed for hours on end, completely lost in the music. Her remixes had gotten some airtime on radio and she'd even posted some of her videos on the newly created Youtube.
As for Dawn, she'd taken up being an artist and fashion designer. Encouraged by what happened in Hearthome City, she had designed some truly unique patterns. The other girls helped model the designs and even Dawn herself modeled some of them with the girls helping her out.
Speaking of the blue-haired girl, she was walking out of the door of the school with a group of admirers. Dawn Berlitz wore a pink ruffled skirt and a pink blouse, with white leggings and gloves up to her sleeves along with gray slip on shoes. Her hair was tied in two pigtails and her face was done with some light make-up to accentuate her pale features. "Sorry, I've got to go home girls. I promise to have some more designs soon." She told her fans with a cheery smile.
"See you Monday, Dawn!" one of the girls called out as they went their separate ways. Dawn sighed and walked towards her friends and secret romantic partners. "Man being popular is tough," she commented tiredly, "Hey guys!" She waved at them as she approached.
Dawn sat down and smiled at Ash. The young man smiled back and opened up his arm. She scooted close and checked her appearance. "So, we waiting on Tsuki?" he asked the others.
"I'm right here. And I can see Mrs. Ketchum and Brock and Mr. Smith coming," called a female voice. They turned to see a silver haired girl wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. She was Tsuki, who appeared to be 14, but in reality was much older. She was the guide of the Guardians, who pointed them in the right direction and introduced them to their destinies.
Everyone nodded and headed towards the two cars, a black truck and a grey van. Sitting in the front were two men. The first was a dark skinned young man, wearing a green shirt and brown pants. The second was a black haired middle aged man wearing a blue shirt and grey khakis. They were Brock Slate and Drew's dad, Mike, respectively. In the time since he and his family came to this world, Brock had settled in nicely and had taken up a part-time job at the local vet, where his expertise with pokémon translated to veterinarian skills.
In the van proper sat a beautiful red haired woman with a yellow shirt, a blue skirt, a pink jacket and gardening gloves. She was Ash's mother, Delia Ketchum. After getting the paperwork through, Delia had found a job at the local plant nursery. Her care for the plants and her skill with raising organic food made her quite popular with the locals.
Ash, Misty, Max and Dawn headed towards Delia's car while Drew, Gabby and Tori walked to the truck.
"Drew!" a female voice called, causing the young man to stop and smile. He turned to see a tanned woman with black hair, about as tall as Max, wearing a red shirt and jeans. From her appearance she was from India.
"Hey Nupur, what up?" he asked.
"Nothing, do you have Emma's gift for her party tonight?" the girl asked him
"Oh yeah," he replied, taking out his bag. He opened it enough to pull out a small box and card. "She'll love it," he assured the girl, giving it to her.
"Thanks Drew. See you Monday!" she called, walking away with a backwards wave. Drew watched her go with a smile. The two meeting each other was pure coincidence. They'd had the same math class and also the same lunch. One day, while he was getting lunch, he'd noticed her sitting alone.
Flashback, September 2004
Drew stepped out of the lunch line. As he walked over to his friends, he noticed a girl eating by herself, two tables over.
"Drew, are you going to sit down?" asked Gabby.
He looked over at Gabby, who was sitting at their usual table.
"I will. It's just that… there's this girl over there who looks lonely. Mind if I sit with her today?"
Ash waved it off as he swallowed his meal. "It's fine. Its alright to have friends outside of us Drew. Keeps us grounded."
Misty giggled at the mature answer while Drew walked over to the table. The girl looked to be writing something down.
"Hey there, you're in my math class with Miss Zaire," Drew greeted, sitting down.
The girl started, looked up in surprise and noticed the boy. "Yeah, I'm Nupur Sobti. And no, I'm not in 6th grade."
"Not commenting on your height. Drew Smith, nice to meet you. You looked lonely," he said without preamble, holding out his hand.
The girl seemed to brighten up and took the hand. "Thanks, I guess. What about your friends?"
Drew looked over and saw them laughing. "Don't worry about them. They actually told me to meet with you. So, what you got there?" he asked, pointing to the food.
The pair started to talk for a few minutes before the bell rang and they headed towards their classes.
Flashback End
Over time, Nupur introduced him to some of her own friends, a couple of which were out of district. They were all autistics, something Drew could relate to and over time he introduced them to his friends. While it was awkward for two completely different social circles to interact with each other, they eventually started to find common ground, though Nupur's group interacted with Drew more than his other friends.
Drew sighed as he entered his dad's car with Tori and Tsuki. Mike turned to his son. "You and Nupur seem to click. Are you scared of how she'll react to what you do?"
Drew looked out the window as Nupur's ride drove away. "You don't know the half of it. If she knows a quarter of the things we get into, she might be scared off."
"Is it because you might have something more than feelings of friendship for her?" Tsuki asked from next to him.
"Maybe. Our friendship means a lot to me; I just...I just don't want to ruin whatever relationship we have."
Tori smiled sadly. "We knew that we weren't going to be the only ones to have you. Even if we didn't have this over our heads, Nupur would be good for you."
Drew smiled and kissed her. "Thanks Tor."
The ride passed comfortably and soon pulled up to their street. Up at the top of the hill sat a two story tan colored house. This was Drew's house. The houses next to them belonged to Ash and his friends. The yards had been cleared and merged into one big yard.
The students changed out of their clothes and into training outfits. Drew had a black one, Misty and Ash were blue, Dawn was pink, Brock was grey, Max was green, Gabby wore yellow and Tori in gray.
When they got outside, the pokémon trainers were instantly greeted by their many companions; with so many species, it might as well be a zoo. There was the humanoid Gallade, who immediately started sparring with Max. A bunny named Buneary bounced around Dawn with the penguin Piplup and the electric squirrel Pachirisu. Over in a small pond, Misty and Tori walked onto the water to begin their training by moving the water in the pond, using ice as platforms. Surrounding them were the various water pokémon Misty and her family had acquired. Off to the side of the clearing, Gabby began kata of her preferred Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, while Brock began cracking rocks. Finally, in the middle of the clearing, Ash and Drew stood with two wooden Bokken, tensed to start. Drew held his to the side in a one handed grip. Ash settled into a two handed grip that resembled a kendo stance.
A small leaf landed next to them. The two blinked out of focus and charged at each other, weapons straining under the combined force of their swings. Drew grinned as he as he saw Ash strain under his push. He then released the pressure and reached underneath Ash's weapon, using his size to try and overpower his opponent. Ash countered by backflipping under Drew's wide swing, then countered, his blade almost too fast for the eye to see. Drew dodged the slashes as best he could, bending his body out of the way. Finally he swayed all the way back, using his legs to strike at Ash's face in a flip. Ash immediately blocked his kick and backpedaled as Drew swung hard to strike him. A couple more minutes of this and they reset themselves, looking for another opening.
Off to the side, Delia set down refreshments and watched her son spar with Drew.
"Our boys seem to be enjoying themselves." Mike's voice broke her concentration. She turned to see him sitting down with a glass of water in his hand. He looked out onto the field to see everyone training hard. "You know I sent my son off on an adventure and he returned with friends he wouldn't have otherwise," he murmured, "Pretty much picked up another son and three daughters."
It was true. Misty, Anabel, Dawn and Ash did not have a significant father figure in their lives. Mike had taken the role of the group father, dispensing valuable advice to them. He especially liked having Ash around as the boy had missed out on lot growing up without a father and thus thrived on his advice. Drew took it in stride, not caring he had to share his father and he liked having them as adopted siblings even though legally they were not adopted by him.
Speaking of May and Anabel, the two walked through the door, the brunette in a red gi and the and the purple haired empath in a gi that matched her hair.
"Dad would be kind of jealous of you thinking I'm your daughter, Mr. Smith," May told them, smiling, "Plus it's not just us you've been helping. Look at Team Rocket. They are as far away from the people that we knew when I started my journey," she pointed out.
Mike's company had expanded quite a bit in the last year or so. Two of his hires were Jessie and James, formerly of Team Rocket, a move that Mike had been reluctant to make at first. Thanks to his influence though, the two had truly blossomed into great workers. He chuckled, thinking back on it. "I always believed that if they were willing to put in the work, they'd deserve the job. I think God gave them second chances for a reason. Even Meowth has been a help." Said cat helped with filing and accounting. When clients came in, he acted like a normal house cat. When they left, he'd immediately set back to work. Those at the office were surprised at the talking cat, but warmed up to him because of his wit and occasional bouts of kindness.
May smiled and watched the duel began again. "If you don't mind, I think that duel of theirs is gonna become a free for all," she giggled as she launched into cartwheeled and jumped into the fight. Drew and Ash immediately blocked her charge with their weapons crossed. The battle became an intricate dance of wooden blades and fists.
Anabel turned to Mike. "You don't have to say anything, Mr. Smith. You've given us stability and a lot of things we wouldn't have learned otherwise. Thank you for everything you've done for me and everyone else." She reached up to kiss him on the cheek and headed off to where her pokémon were waiting to train.
Delia giggled as Mike watched her run off. The man sighed. "They're growing up. Soon I might not be needed."
"You'll always be needed. Everyone turns to you for advice, don't forget that," she reassured him.
The man smiled as the three way battle continued. After a half an hour, the sparring match had turned into a free for all as everyone else was dragged into the spar. Another 15 minutes passed before drained from sparring, the kids collapsed into heaps of laughter as they were covered in dirt, mud and grass. This seemed to end the training and their pokémon walked over to play with them.
The sun set half an hour later and the group started to head back to clean themselves up. Ash had May on his back and Anabel and Dawn on his arms, Misty walking in front of them. Gabby and Tori were talking training tips with Brock, while Max and Drew discussed homework. Tsuki watched them from the deck with a large smile. Then she looked up to the darkening sky and her smile fell. "Soon. I feel their journey…will be soon."
A couple of hours later, Anabel stood in her room, wearing a white tank top and blue short shorts, having recently cleaned up after dinner. Her room was bathed in a calming blue light; pictures of various dancers and animals adorned the walls. With Anabel being an orphan, Delia took upon herself to look after her, along with Misty who often crashed there because her sisters were out modelling.
Anabel walked up to the turntable and put on her headphones. As she did so, she went through the selection of songs, chose a couple and hit the play button. She closed her eyes as the music started up; through her empathic abilities, she could imitate the phenomenon of Synaesthesia and perceive the sounds as colors and shapes. Swaying in time with it, she pressed buttons and flipped switches to mix the colors around in her mind's eye. After a couple of mixes, she unplugged the headphones and moved in front of the turntable to begin swaying and dancing to the groove. To those who watched the empath, she was dancing in such a way that she could hypnotize any onlooker. With her Guardian ancestry bleeding through, she danced like she was on a different plane. A couple of songs later she stopped, opening her eyes and caught her breath. She saw Ash on the bed in a sleeveless shirt and shorts.
"Hey Ana," he greeted.
Anabel smiled. "Hey Ash," she whispered.
Ash handed her a glass of water and she took a big gulp. "Make any good remixes?" he asked, leaning back on the bed.
"Yeah. But I felt today was more about feeling the music then creating it. Hence why I was dancing," she replied doing a twirl before stepping between the boy's legs "I can tell you liked it."
"I did. It was really great!" he responded as the empath pushed him onto the bed. Ash immediately pulled her close, getting her to blush but smiled nonetheless.
She ducked her head shyly, but whispered "Thank you," before leaning into capture his lips. The two lost themselves into the kiss. Ash pulled her in close to deepen it, enjoying the pleased moans coming from his lover's mouth as he felt every inch of bare skin he could reach, Anabel doing the same. The two released to catch their breath and saw the love in each other's eyes.
"Got room for one more?" a familiar voice called out from the doorway. Rather than be embarrassed, the two smiled and turned to see the Misty leaning against the door, her hair down and wearing a black sports bra and matching sleep shorts, which showed off her taut tummy and her long swimmer's legs and arms. People had given her the nickname the Mermaid, for grace and her skill in the pool. Her model like body, hardened by the training in and out of the pool, combined with her decent size chest, thin waist, wide hips and tanned skin, made her the wet dream of every straight boy and some closet lesbians in the school. But she had chosen Ash, who was no slouch in the looks department, as Anabel could attest to.
The empath smiled. "Always room for you, Mist."
Misty sauntered over to the bed and hugged the empath, putting the younger girl between her and Ash. "You know, sharing a bed with Dawn and May is nice, but there's something special about snuggling up with my boyfriend and my favorite teddy bear," she whispered into Anabel's ear.
Anabel shivered happily and snuggled into Ash. "Yeah."
Ash started to thread his hand through her hair; she reached over to telepathically shift the music off and closed her eyes, drinking in the combined warmth from both Ash and Misty.
The boy watched her fall asleep and looked up to Misty. "You think Dawn and May would be jealous?"
Misty shrugged her shoulders. "Probably, up to the point where they get their turn like this. Sweet dreams." she said, kissing Ash and then snuggling into Anabel's back.
Ash watched them fall asleep and then drifted off himself.
Unknown time Later: Ruins of the Palace
In a far different world than the one the guardians currently resided in, there stood a massive ruin of a palace. The years had not been kind to it; the ruins held scars of the massive battle that took place during the Kingdom's fall. Like the Kingdom, its name was lost to history, but those who still remembered it just called it the Palace. Once the home of the Princes and Princesses, it now held the darkness that destroyed it.
"GENERALS, TO [ME]!" a sinister voice called out to the halls of the Palace.
With that call five shadows materialized themselves. The first was a purple haired man wearing a blue and purple outfit and carrying a large lance. Former trainer, now Dark Aura trainee, Paul, who had given up his humanity for power.
Second was a short redheaded woman with small breasts. She wore a green cloak over leather trappings and had crafty, narrowed brown eyes. She had a dark-red Redwood staff slung over her shoulder. Despite her innocent appearance, a murky, unhinged intelligence lurked behind her hazel eyes. Yuzan, a former goddess and quite possibly the most unpredictable of the five generals gathered.
Third was a man of 5'9", wearing a white robe with a black belt and carrying black-hilted katana. He had red hair and green eyes. He was Malachi, a general who had once headed the Kingdom's army. He had been banished for using his power to murder and crucify multiple people.
Fourth was a woman with brown hair and a C-cup bust. She was dressed in kunoichi garb, including dark green armor with a mesh shirt underneath. Biker shorts, closed toed shoes and shin guards completed the ensemble. Her weapon was a two foot ninjato. Her name was Junko: a kunoichi that had betrayed the royals and led millions to their deaths by selling her country's secrets.
The final man wore a black suit and tie. He stood at 6'0 and carried a huge, golden zanbato with intricate markings carved into the blade, which he could lift one-handed. On his jacket pocket was his symbol: a downward-pointing golden sword, with five silver, smaller blades surrounding the hilt in a semi-circle. Matthew, elder brother of the last prince of Fire. He had been enraged at being passed over for his birthright and willingly betrayed his family to get the power he so coveted.
"Are we already moving out? I thought we were still gathering more troops?" Paul asked.
"Malachi is still gathering his minions. However Yuzan's troops are in position on her world." Matthew replied.
Yuzan giggled sinisterly. "My army is ready. Those mages won't know what hit them~ Until they choke and drown."
Junko scoffed. "That world is so behind technologically; you should have no trouble conquering them."
"What about the Guardians?" Malachi asked tonelessly. His face had begun to crack, a side effect from gathering his minions like this.
Yuzan giggled. "Not to worry! We've got the capital and the army to win. By the time those riders interfere…They won't be able to stop us. I'll rid them of their useless flesh…they'll make nice additions, won't they…?"
"How are you getting the investment?" Paul asked.
"I have some very rich benefactors that I… threatened with my blood. Their fears got them to comply."
Matthew shook his head wryly. "Why you do this is beyond me. But seeing your success, I will not stop it."
"SILENCE!"
The five generals bowed to the two red eyes that appeared above them. Like the true name of the Palace, the name of the Darkness had been lost to history. However, the generals now call him the Puppetmaster.
"Yuzan: your plans [will] go forward. We also need you to find the Guardians there and destroy [them]!
Yuzan rubbed her chin. "Perhaps I can hire the guilds of this world. Surely someone will go after them for a price."
Matthew pulled up a hologram. "There are hundreds of guilds on this world; the Guardians could be in any of them," he noted seriously.
"I will find them. And kill them!" Yuzan hissed as she snuck away into the darkness.
The Generals left and went to prepare their armies and to find the other guardians.
Back on Earth
Tsuki widened her eyes and sat up from her bed, catching her breath. She held her chest to calm her heart as she remembered what she saw.
A knock on the door snapped her out her stupor. "C-come in," she called.
In walked Drew, looking concerned. "Tsuki, what's wrong?"
Tsuki shook her head. "It's the same thing that happened before we headed to Ash and the others' world."
Drew shook his head. "That didn't spook you as much as this."
Tsuki wrapped her arms around her knees. "It's just…I believe they already have a foothold in the next world. We need to begin preparations as soon as possible."
"The Equinox right?" When she nodded, Drew stood up and smiled. "Don't worry," he assured her, stretching his limbs, "We'll kick butt just as much in that world as we did in Ash's world."
Tsuki smiled wryly, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. "Your powers are still growing…but I believe you'll win as well. Good night, brother."
"Good night, sister."
The two went back to bed and fell asleep quickly, thinking about what was to come.
March 20th, 2005, 8:30 AM
Drew and his friends stood in front of Tsuki who had her arms out and her eyes glowing. Light poured from them and formed on either side of Tsuki. The light died down revealing identical copies of them, right down to the attitudes and their clothes.
Brock shook his head. "It feels weird looking at ourselves," he muttered, eyeing the clones idly.
Tsuki smiled. "It's fine to feel that way. While these bodies act as your real bodies, training and learning, you will head to this new world and defend it," she declared, recovering her energy.
"So now what?" Dawn asked.
"Now we must prepare. The portal will be ready at sunset," Tsuki told her.
Ash nodded. "Alright then. Let's get started.
Drew POV (Start the Pacific Rim Opening Theme)
"Years before, if you told me that there were different worlds out there and I was going to save each one, well I would tell you were nuts."
Each of the friends headed to their respective rooms. The girls helped dress and clean each other up, while Brock started keeping tally of all the gear they would take. Ash and Max gathered up the pokémon and put them in their pokeballs. Drew walked up to a wall with a picture-frame of his homeworld.
"However, each of my friends, including those from my favorite series, have a unique gift. We are descendent from a powerful group of people that defended these worlds before they became what they were. They were called…The Guardians."
Drew opened up a statue and pressed the button inside. The wall in front of them detached and then opened up, folding away in segments to reveal a rack of weapons. Drew went for a three foot-long sword that appeared to be made of silver. Gabby grabbed a golden brown bow and its quiver. Tori retrieved a cyan, crystalline staff. Ash went for the katana with a yellow and black sheath. Misty went for a long, blue trident. May took an oriental sword with a brown tassel. Max grabbed two Sais and a bo-staff. Brock took a large Poleaxe. Finally, Anabel grabbed two purple chakrams and Dawn took a silver rapier with a revolver mechanism built into it.
Each of them examined their weapons, re-familiarizing themselves with them and making sure they were sharp and well-maintained. They then each took a few practice swings, before putting them in their respective holsters.
As Drew stowed his sword away, Tsuki approached him with a much larger sheathe. "Drew. I believe you should take this," she told him.
He took a look at the sheath. It was much larger than his current weapon, Leonid; almost as tall as him, in fact and it lacked a hilt. "You're giving me Regulus?" he asked incredulously, taking the hilt gingerly, "I thought I wasn't ready for it!"
Tsuki shook her head. "You're not, but I feel you may need it sooner or later. Take good care of it."
Drew nodded, still staring at the grand blade. "I will," he promised.
A couple of hours later, the group of friends headed towards an elevator that was built into Drew's house. Tsuki had started to construct an underground base of operations for this world in preparation for a potential battle here. The elevator opened to a large cave with a large circular structure that reminded Drew of the Stargate. Their families were waiting patiently as their children walked out of the elevator with a purpose. Off to the side a case opened up with steam billowing out. Out of the steam emerged ten objects. Among the items were a black phone, a red object with a small slot that looked too thin for an iPod, a silver buckle with what looked a camera on the front and an opening on top and seven golden buckles with a lever on the side and an opening for a card on the side.
The belts. Ancient powers contained within a device no bigger than our hand. When we activate them, we become Guardians of Humanity, Kamen Riders.
The group headed towards the portal where their families stood.
"You two be good now. Don't do anything rash," Norman said to his children
"Stay out of trouble you two…Especially you, Max," Caroline encouraged.
"Mom!" Max groaned but hugged his parents.
"Be careful honey. You're all I have," Joanna told Dawn as the two hugged.
"I will mom," Dawn answered earnestly, small tears in her eyes.
"Misty, like, don't get any more beautiful there," Daisy told her baby sister.
"Yeah, you just might take our jobs," Violet continued teasingly.
"Oh don't listen to them. Go show them what the Waterflowers are made of," Lily countered.
Misty smiled. "Thanks girls! You stay out of trouble."
Ash was being hugged by his mother. "My baby boy. Just come home safe and change your underwear every day!"
"Mom!" Ash groaned but kissed his mother on the forehead. Delia turned to Anabel. "You girls keep him out of trouble."
"You got it, mother," the empath replied with happiness. Gabby and Tori were saying goodbye to their parents, while Brock was being swarmed by his siblings.
Drew looked at his dad. "I'm going to miss ya, man. You watch out for everyone."As he hugged his old man.
"Including Nupur?" Mike pressed.
"Yeah…even her," Drew replied with a small blush.
Finished up with their good byes, Drew turned to Tsuki and nodded. He pulled out his watch and opened it. At the same time, Tsuki closed her eyes and spread her arms. The portal began to turn and electrify, the time space barrier beginning to fold in. Her eyes glowed brightly like two full moons, before a beam of brilliant light shot from her hands. In conjunction with her, Drew thrust his watch in front of him and a beam of light shot out to hit the barrier. The combined energy tore through the space and created a black hole that stabilized after a few seconds.
