Note: Just something short and sweet... okay maybe not so sweet. Enjoy!

Both Octavia and Raven snapped to attention at a sound that came from a nearby bush. Their hearts picking up speed, Raven lifted a newly made walkie talkie to her mouth.

"There's someone in the bushes." She whispered.

It didn't take long for Bellamy to find them, his gun at the ready. The grounders had taken Finn. The grounders had taken Clarke. He'd be damned if he let one slip through their fingers.

Motioning for both Raven and his sister to stay behind him, he moved forward and what happened next happened fast. Too fast to make any real sense.

Clarke had been keeping cover behind the leaves when she recognized Bellamy's face. A sigh of relief slipped silently between her lips and she stood, reaching out for him.

"Bell-"

His name was cut short as a bullet shot through her stomach when Bellamy's finger let go of the trigger.

She grasped at her stomach desperately, trying to stop the pain, trying to keep the blood from spilling, before her knees buckled and she fell to the ground. Bellamy's eyes widened in horror. His gun dropped to the ground and for a moment he couldn't move. But when his sister screamed Clarke's name at the top of her lungs, he was able to make his way over to her. He kneeled down beside her, pulling her into his arms.

"Clarke?" Her name was barley audible, his voice shaking.

Her eyes met his, tears threatening to spill.

"No, no, no, no, no." He repeated over and over again, putting his hands over hers, trying to help her keep herself together.

She opened her mouth as if she meant to say something but all the came out was the gurgle of blood and then her eyes fluttered momentarily before shutting.

"Clarke?" He shook her gently… but when she didn't open her eyes he became more rough.

"CLARKE?!" He screamed.

Her eyes didn't open.

She wasn't moving.

His hand slid to her neck, searching for a pulse, urging it into existence but it didn't work. Nothing worked. She was motionless in his arms.

"No." He said again, gathering her up and lifting her off the ground.

"We have to get back to camp." He told the others, running in the direction they came from.

The moment he entered the drop ship, he placed her onto the table where she had saved Finn's life.

"Do something." He looked to Raven, and then to his sister.

"Don't just stand there!" He cried. "DO SOMETHING."

Octavia rushed to Clarke's side, ripping her shirt and looking at the bullet wound. Like Bellamy she looked for a pulse and when she didn't find one she placed a hand over her heart.

Nothing.

She turned toward Bellamy, tears spilling down her cheeks.

"Bell…"

He shook his head.

"Please." He begged.

"I… I can't…" She couldn't say it. Saying it meant it was real and reality was not something her brother would be able to deal with. But she closed her eyes, squeezing both her hands into fists and when she looked at him again, she knew she had no choice.

"She's gone, Bellamy. She's… she's dead."

And it was his fault.
