"You shouldn't worry so much," she said, pushing a strand of blonde hair behind her ear. "It's not healthy."

The guy beside her snorted and shoved his hands deeper inside his pockets. "Like you wouldn't worry if you were in my shoes." He looked up towards the destroyed roof and sighed. The orange glow of the sun darkened everything around them, making the walls in the guild look even more terrifying than usual.

"I am worried" she mumbled and sat at the edge off the bar, looking at the blood of their dear friends, spilled out over the floor. "I just don't worry as much as you do. I do actually believe that it's a way out of this mess. " He knew she was right - she always was.

She scratched her neck, and the boy leaned his head against her cold shoulder. "I know. It's just that… it's so hard to believe. After what happened.."

"We don't have to believe. It's no time for that. We just have to do it," She said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. And it was, really. He lifted his head of her shoulder and glanced up at the sky, already dark and sparkling with stars. "It will be a rough battle" He said, making eye contact with her for the first time in weeks. She laid down at the cold floor and stared up at the sky, her blonde hair covering most of her pale face.

"That's why we have to ask Sabertooth for help. We don't have enough members to do this by ourselves," she mumbled as he sat down beside her and brushed the hair out of her face so he could look properly at her.

"You forgot that they also lost a lot of members. It won't be enough. "

She sighed and took his hand, holding it in front of her face and started to play with his fingers, bending them in odd directions and curling them around her own. "We have to look for new members then. With Sting and the others help." The boy gave her a weak smile and laid down on his side next to her, grabbing her hand properly.

"I really hope this will work out. I can't stand the feeling of losing somebody else now. We have already lost too many." He squeezed her hand as tears started to form in her eyes. "Yes.. And I don't want to lose the ones we have left."

He nodded , and the girl weakly rolled over to his side, facing him. "And when the time comes, we'll find those we have lost," He said, smiling weakly. "So that all of us.. one day.. can be happy again." More tears started to flow out of her eyes. "Yes.. I-I am all fired up..!" The boy laughed, and gave her a sympathetic smile. "That's my line. " She giggled a little, and he squeezed her hand again, tears threatening to fall. "We are gonna work this out. Together."

"Evan if my spirits are all gone.. I'll do what I can. "

"And I promise I'll protect you. No matter what, I'll protect you," He mumbled, and she lifted his hand to kiss his knuckles. "I trust you," she said softly, her breath fanning across his skin. "You always say that," He whispered, stomach twisting uncomfortably. He had promised her so many things. Happiness, love, friendship. She always answered with a smile, saying: "I trust you". But this time, he wasn't able to keep his promise. And it killed him.

"But this time I mean it," she said louder, pulling him close so that his head was nestled in her neck. He didn't know if it was the small smile she gave him that did it, or the tone of her voice, but he knew she meant it, and that it would be different this time.

And he was right.
