Theme: #31: Train
Taking that Train Ride
Disclaimer: Don't own Narnia.
Summary: Lucy, Peter, and Edmund's thoughts before they died.
Author's Note: This little pinprick of an idea has been stuck in my head. So here it is.
Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome. Isaac Asimov.
Lucy sat between her brothers on the train, quite content. They were going to visit the Professor's old house today. The train began to get a little shaky, and with a small scream, Lucy latched onto Peter's arm. "Don't worry, Lu, it's going to be all right."
Peter started shuddering as the train rolled on, and he looked out the window, seeing streaks of light rush past as the train began to derail. Peter looked back and saw the Professor and Aunt Polly, holding onto each other desperately. "Hold on, Ed!"
Edmund had one arm clenched to his seat and another onto his little sister. The train was swinging in the tunnel dangerously. He felt tears leaking from his eyes. The train banged into the tunnel wall.
And then.
Nothing.
