A/N: This came as an idea to me when my mom was listening to this song (more than a memory by, Garth brooks) and she had just finished new moon and she randomly says "Guess who this song reminds me of? Bella and Edward!" hope you like it.

Disclaimer: I do not own twilight or its characters. I also do not own this song.

In the middle of the park people were gathering to listen to the somber music escaping a local music store. There sitting on the piano bench near the window sat a young man with beautiful bronze hair, that seemed to be neglected, and a angelic face marred by a tortured expression.

He started another song singing along this time. Very softly he began.

"People say she's only in my head
It's gonna take time but I'll forget
they say I need to get on with my life
What they don't realize

Is when you're dialing 6 numbers just to hang up the phone
Driving cross town just to see if she's home
Waking a friend in the dead of night
just to hear him say it's gonna be alright
When you find the things to do not to fall asleep
'Cause you know she will be there in your dreams
that's when she's
more than a memory

took a match to everything she ever wrote
watched her words go up in smoke
tore all her pictures off the wall
that aint helping me at all"

The stranger picked up tempo at about now but the anguish never left his voice or face.

"'Cause when you're talking out loud and nobody's there
you look like hell and you just don't care
you're drinking more than you ever drank
and sinking down lower than you ever sank
then you find yourself falling down upon your knees
praying to god and begging him please
that's when she's
more than a memory

Is when you're dialing 6 numbers just to hang up the phone
Driving cross town just to see if she's home
Waking a friend in the dead of night
just to hear him say it's gonna be alright
When you find the things to do not to fall asleep
'Cause you know she's waiting in your dreams
that's when she's
more than a memory

People say she's only in my head
It's gonna take time but I'll… forget"

He whispered the last word, his voice cracking with the emotion behind the words. The keys of his song slowly tinkling lower and more sparse like the last beats of a heart.

The youth stood up and walked out of the store seemingly oblivious of the large group of teary eyed listeners. A young girl from the crowd started to run after him.

"Isabella, come back!" The girl's mother cried.

As soon as the words left her mouth the man stopped, body rigid. He slowly turned around to look at the small brown haired girl and he grabbed a flower of the bush next to him.

Handing it to her he whispered, "You should go back to your family Bella."

She looked surprised that he knew her name but nodded asking, "Are you okay, mister?"

He smiled, a sad smile, and nodded.

The girl turned and ran back to her mother, not noticing that the young man had disappeared.
